  1. Yes its late, ive got 4619 as my latest, last is 4663 if the sherpa book is right.
  2. ...and there is a perfect example of why filling in your profile helps with answers. Very late bike? Does it have the alloy head steady? Forks with pinch bolts in only one side and a frame number close to 5000?
  3. No cant agree with that at all. a did rim isnt necessary swapping a rim band is a straight forward job once mastered and much cheaper. No spokes dont break but need to be adjusted/tightened more than most would even think about. Pet hate of mine wobly wheels
  4. Have you tried Richard Allen for another wheel?
  5. So you never true your rims or break a spoke? IMHO its better to do a job properly once, yes you can bodge but as goudrons says it costs more in the end, and more likely to give trouble at an event.
  6. Vertigo have done alot of testing out of sight anyway.
  7. You are a reasonable person not dad of 2. But there are two sides to testing can you see why its better to test properly befire release, and of course its not possible to test a bike in the SSDT in camouflage and not be noticed. Which for vertigo was an unmitigated success. I really think a few failures in the prototype stage is good pr if they overcome whats wrong.
  8. Only problem with this solution is when it leaks again you wont be able to solve it, plus for it to work every single spoke needs to be 100% leak proof. If its just a small area could it be welded?
  9. Sorry? Whats better a bike released without testing like the 3 I named or one which is tested? If a bike is released after testing (with a few failures maybe - not vertigo) but reliable or one which fails badly? Who would have more long term success?
  10. You're serious? The also rans have to fork out for an FIM licence , and pay entry fees for every wtc event, let alone minders and travelling expenses. There is NO MONEY from the fim to riders. Bou was sponsored from a very young age so his family hasnt paid like in the UK, plus the RFME has a good support system for young riders.
  11. So did you buy a first batch bike of the above, if not, do you see my point?
  12. crazy can you message me please? your in box is full?
  13. Honda montesa for the best part of the 4rt years have spent more on the team than profit from trials bike sales. I stayed in the same hotel as Bou and Fuji in sweeden maybe 09, and the cost of that one trip alone must have been 15k.
  14. i think the opposite and im sure ossa jtg and sherco 4 stroke first batch buyers would agree?
  15. This is a very good thing as youve pin pointed the problem. Go through the new one piece by piece im sure its there somewhere!
