  1. The trial due to be held at Beak Hills Chopgate this Saturday, Has been canceled due to waterlogged ground. (getting fed up of saying/typing that) could you please pass word on to anyone who was thinking of riding. Cheers. Paul & sorry guys/girls.
  2. Personally i love them, they are so much fun to ride. We always try find a graded hill if possible, they seem to go down well with the riders and you usually get at least 1 good comedic moment during the day.
  3. I enjoyed them, thanks very much. it was a cracking day.
  4. It is with regret we have had to cancel our trial at Carlton Bank scheduled for May19th. the venue is still too waterlogged to run without causing permanent damage. sorry guys.
  5. As a matter of interest does anyone know the last time Bou was NOT on the podium outdoors or in.
  6. Cheers Taff we all love you too mate
  7. Broke mine about this time last year. never healed properly but the doctors were not to concerned as it was only a small break right on the edge (a chip i would of called it). The biggest problem was getting the strength and movement back after the pot came off. first trial back was reeth 3 day and finished without to many problems, tested the wrist a few times in the process. no ill effects at all now. I broke mine falling off a unicycle, I'm s***e on 2 wheels why i thought i could do any better on 1 i don't know.
  8. We will be setting out as from tomorrow. the weather is looking good for Sunday, good news for all riders and observers. and the conditions will be great for the trial bit slippery in the gullies in places. Please remember to have a downward facing registration plate on the rear mudguard. I look forward to great day. See you there. Paul

    Tyre Choice

X lite great grip, but like gj said poor side walls removed mine due to all the punctures, but we do have lots of rocks in the north might not be a problem for you. IRC never used anything else on my 04 gasser grip well even after losing the edge, but on the 2011 the bloody thing wont stay up when riding, had to fit a tube. I will be going for a X11 next time unless the IRCs get sorted. Hope this helps a little. I'm a very average clubman rider who just gets out to have fun on a bike with the lads and flat tyres tend to ruin that.
  10. The entry list is still not full, closing date is March 6TH Entry forms and regs are available for download on the link above.

    The Rules

As long as it is not a imaginary boundary. I'm assuming that is the same north & south of the border?
  14. Watching your vids I think you will be fine. Crack on and enjoy mate.
  15. Middlesbrough & district motorclub will be holding a trials at lazenby bank tomorrow. 3 laps 10 sections. conditions were very good under wheel today. so we kept the big lap, and extended a few sections. lazenby bank can be located just of the A174 opposite lazenby village. 11am start all classes, enter at start. Hope to see a few of you there, if you can bring a observer please do so. Cheers Paul.
  16. Joanne coles may return to the sport one day, no one will be sure if she will or wont return to trials except her, and who's to say she wont come back on the organizing side of things. many people disappear for many years, but most seem to return one day, I did also. if we send them packing they may never return and that wouldn't be for the best. we need to try accommodate everyone in this sport if its going to continue and hopefully thrive. I myself and a few of the lads that help me are under 40, should we sod off for a few more years, or continue to ride and organize trials? I'm not trying to get into a argument with anyone over this next statement, but myself and the lads i work with don't own rose tinted spectacles, we don't hanker back to bygone days and we don't believe we know everything. when we ride at different clubs and centres if we see what we think is a good idea we adapt it to what works for us and use it. we brought in a extra route to our trials to help accommodate the diversities in ability and it has worked, to the point where other clubs in our centre have followed us. riders of all ages have complimented us on what we have done and believe its the best way to go(not all riders but enough to make us continue)unfortunately we were only able to do this once some older gents moved aside allowing us to do so. this is by no way a derogatory remark to the older gents who kept our club running long before we turned up, just a fact that the younger voices were not getting heard. I'm not saying i have all the answers (I'm not that arrogant)but i would like to see some things change, but would rather get my own house in order first.
  17. The youth of today are the over 40s of the future, we shouldn't alienate them altogether. Some youths help out at trials now, so we shouldn't tar them all with the same brush. In the same way as all over 40s are not clueless old farts. As far as the ACU goes they have only changed the rules for the BTC, everything else can stay the same so it makes no difference to me.
  18. so when you make a right mess of it and crash, broken bike and broken bones can be solved by hitting the reset button. Oh how I wish that was possible.
  19. welcome on board gadge. guisborough motor club have a practice area at charltons. scarborough motor club have one at harwood dale. there is another at dalton woods, croft(not sure who runs that one). When you are ready to get out riding you can always come visit us at middlesbrough motor club, we have a club house in coulby newham and motorsport members meet every monday night. pop down have a pint and we can talk you through all you need to know on how to get started in the sport, and the best trials to start off in(some are harder than others due to the venue). we will be running a trial on the 22nd of this month on the lazenby hills if you want to walk round and have a look at what is involved,i will warn you its a good old hike round the place like. Message me if you would like any more details on the trial or the club. And we all crash mate so dont worry about it.

    boots

I have a mate who got a pair of hebo eco, fell apart really quickly. The axo look more like mx boots. Don't know anything about the wulf boots, but think I would give them a go over the other 2.
  21. keep a eye on scarborough dmc web site they are good at givin out news on local trials. i will PM you a phone number of someone who will know for sure just in case. hope it helps. Paul
  22. January 22nd next trial up there. The lap might not be as big depending on the weather. It is one hell of a walk round the place. what you need is a bloody big dog to pull you up the hills, down side of that is you end up overtaking the bikes when the bugger pulls you back down again. George does a great job of the kids trials its all about the kids enjoying it aswell as learning, he puts one on at most of our events. If you haven't already rode it keep a eye open for our fryup 2 day in september, great for the conducted trial better still for the main course another big lap with every type of section we can throw at you.
  23. Glad you enjoyed it mate. its a good ride out round there and thats not the biggest lap we can put on, might really go for it one day and totally knacker you all out.
  24. middlesbrough & district motor club will be holding the vic boys trial at lazenby tomorrow (november 27th) it will be adult only 3 laps,10 sections, 3 route, 11am start. we have put a big lap on again, if you have never rode here before its a bit like a enduro between sections (good fun). hope to see a few there, if you can bring a observer GREAT, its a fair old walk to most of the sections so if they have a bike better still. Cheers Paul.
