Most bits are interchangeable but suspension and brakes were changed from 2000 on .

Has anybody made the handlebars higher or lower by adding to or removing the packer/s under the clamps - What do you think? Also are the packers obtainable and where from.

Most riders including myself agree IRC tyres are good on the rear but have many tried them on the front and what do they think?

I used a pirrelli front tyre in recent years and found it as good as anything else.

I must agree Cabestany was awesome and the smoothest rider out there. He had at least 2 unlucky 'slip off' fives when riding sections to perfection and towards the end of the final was a real threat to Raga. Good luck to the Sherco rider and hope he at least pushes Raga all the way in the 'Indoors' this year. I think besides the results Fuji looked more comfortable on the Mont. possibly because his bike was not 'stock' and I guess being Japanese he has had more time on the Honda? My first time at Sheffield, although disappointed with Dougies lack of success, a excellent night with some fantastically skilled riding by all!

My tap has only been turned off once in 16months to remove the tank. No problem!

Please could somebody tell me where they get their marker wires from in the UK? I mean the standard type which you slide the coloured cards through and approxiomate price.

I think the show this year was better than the last few years. Dissappointed not to see a Sherco 4-stroke Trials Bike though. The Montesas were I think the ones we tested at the BVM do - tarted up a little. As for those levers etc. on the Betas, will be interesting to watch! Great idea to have a Trials only show. Dave Renham organised one down South years ago and although quite small it was very good. Biggest complaint about the Stoneleigh show - No beer!!!!!

The Thames Club always put on good events. Wish there were more organisers like Paul Sims, Bob Brown and Nigel Hains etc.

I also have the Haven Trialsport clutch plates on my 2001 montesa and except for cold plate-stick now the oil is due for a change they completely cured previous problems and only cost about

My son has regularly ridden an 03 270 since December 02 with no stator problems! So far so good-------

Fit a set of plates supplied by 'Haven' - Instant cure for my '01' Recommeded to me by someone who had the problem with a '98' and then when he updated to an '02' swapped the same plates from his outgoing machine and cured the same problem.

Great Bikes Had a 98 for 2+ years - No problems at all. Rode regularly and never even stripped the carb and only had the plug out once! Now have a 2001 much improved but still very bullet proof. Only needed to fit 'Haven' clutch plates as was fierce. Also went for a slow action twist grip. As regards the airbox - Just clean regularly especially after particularly muddy or dusty events.
