Don't go too mad with the spacers and much longer bolts as you might find your mudguard starts hitting frame/exhaust etc. when suspension is on full go.

For a start if you drill a small hole a the very end of any crack or split - That should stop it 'running'

Got it on Astra 19 on my free dish but commentry was in Deutsch.

Have the same problem with an 05. Stripped out exhaust etc. to expose. Can anyone explain how the arm and shaft are removed for replacement or welding? Help appreciated.

Sorry no pics of rack and bike on Uno but as I said no probs. Presently use same rack on Renault 19, not too large a car with simular results. Good luck which ever way you go.

I used to travel miles with a trials bike on a rack on a Fiat Uno no probs - Give it a go!
