  1. With still over four weeks to go to the Colmore Cup and entries are coming in fast with almost 90 riders allready entered! It looks like this years event will be a full house with the 'easy route' format proving very popular. Entries are limited to 120 riders and entry forms can be found on the Stratford Club web site HERE
  2. Yes, definately strip and grease the suspension bearings, I had a brand new 250 a few years back and the bearings and pins were completely free of any grease when I stripped when I got it home. Well worth the effort!

Brilliant pictures, thanks for pointing us to them.
  4. Good to have you back in trials and welcome to TC. 20 in front wheel is unusual, was that fitted as standard do you know?
  5. If you mean the yellow background, I get mine from a trailer supplier and cut it too size. I can get four trials bike sized backgrounds from one normal plate sticker. It has been clamped down on recently, you used to be able to get them from Halfords but they are a bit funny about number plates now.
  6. This makes me think about all the superb venues that we've lost over the last 20 years, at Fish Quarry and at Cotstone Quarry you could have run a World Round both sadly now lost. More recently we've lost The Warren at Shennington (with it's disused WW2 conceret sewage filter beds) we've lost Top of the World over looking the Vale of Evesham.... the list goes on and on.
  7. Either Chips Quarry now dug out, or Cotstone Quarry now filled in, as used in the Colmore 20 years ago. For design, vision, hard work and pure determination, the Earl Shilton Club's venue at the Yennards has to be in my top three current venues.
  8. My car failed last year due to a cracked number plate, so it sounds as if the standards vary from tester to tester.
  9. I'm having to print these off so that I can remember them later keep them coming chaps!
  10. I've recently ordered two plates from these people CLICK HERE FOR LINK they did me a full size one for the MOT and a 6x4 for general use, both for
  11. For those interested in the riders entered in the Colmore Cup on 28th February, you can see the entries as they come in by clicking on the Stratford-Upon-Avon web site HERE The Colmore starts at Downs Farm near Bourton onthe Hill, off the A44 between Broadway and Moreton in the Marsh and is a round of the Novogar Clubmans Championship. For compettitors wishing to have a less testing ride around, there will be an Easy route marked at the hardest 50% of the sections. Pete
  12. Give BVM moto at Stroud a call, they may be able to supply a superior aftermarket ignistion set up for your bike or at least point you in the right direction for a repair.
  13. As a trials rider I am 100% with you on that, however we must also remember that the event has to be TV compatible and attractive to non trials riders. In an age of instant gratification, this is where the 'exciting' races come into their own. It helps to keep Mr/Mrs average viewer interested, it's a shame that the format so frustrating to us as riders.
  14. Yes I've had a similar experience on the Costwolds one Sunday morning, we were actually on a tarmac surfaced minor road between byways when a lone rambler decided that we should not be riding our bikes along the road and walked in the dead centre waving his ski pole round his head to stop us riding past. I can't believe how intollerant of others some walkers are, people get stabbed for less than that, not to mention being plain stupid for antagonising a group of bikers miles from nowhere!
  15. Too far down south for me I'm afraid, it would be good to get out on the bike again after all the snow of recent weeks. Have a good time on Weds.
  16. Failing that, ride in as many LDT's as you can before it's too late!
  17. They are very good IF you can live with the quirky styling.
  18. Do a Google search and see if you can find anything about a world wide 4t trials bike conspiracy.
  19. Trail riding around here on a trials bike would be torture I'm afraid, the green lanes that we can still use are now so far apart the road bits inbetween wold murder you and the bike. If the trail riding in your area is closer together then go for it, you'll have a blast. It's well worth gearing up though. Two up on the front would be a good start. Pete
  20. I'm only a club B route rider and I'm rubbish if you show me a rock, but I can honestly say that I would loose more marks in a 4t than on a 2t. As much as I love the idea of a four stroke and I really wanted to like them, the main reason for riding is to compete so it stands to reason that I want to loose the least marks as possible. Maybe with a lot of practice my opinion would change, but from the short rides I've had on all the models available, I have decided to stick to the 2t. Pete
  21. I've been lucky so far using those on my DRZ400 for LDT's. I use 5psi on muddy events or 7 if we are on rocks like in the Wyegate. I have a good quality security clamp and an extra thick tube.
  22. I nknow it will never happen but trials would be a lot easier to set out if every rider was on a Scorpa 125/175. The top riders would still be the top riders but you wouldn't need the big tough sections to take marks and get a result. One of the main problems with modern trials is that the bikes are not the limiting factor, it's all down to rider skill and the difference between the best and the rest is huge. Three or four riders in the world can use 100% of the performance of a modern trials bike, the rest of us are only limited by our ability. It would be really interesting to stage a one make trial using little four strokes with whisper quiet exhausts and see who enjoyed themselves.
