What Did You Do To Your Gas Gas Today?

Featured Replies

Took my bike appart today for some much needed maintance which has been too long on the list now.

I will put in new crankbearings, new clutch basket and crankgear, new idler and kickstartgear, and give the rest a good cleanup! Repair the exhaust (minor leak near rearbrake mounting point), weld the frame (underneath the radiator is a small ''bridge'' which always brakes).

Probably put in the new type waterpump.

Notice the piston rings which are carbonised stuck into the piston!

and probably more!

Last Saturday morning  was a little cool so went into the shed pulled top end down my Raga had ticked over 260 hrs on std piston pulled it out still mint put in the new S3 piston kit, so in the next 260 hrs will start it over again. Had a cuppa then pulled the clutch pack out of my wife's pro 125 needs new plates should arrive this week from mate Peter B them its time for a spin on them.

Just stripped and cleaned carb thoroughly having had it keep stalling when I took it away. Now just waiting for my new fan rectifier to come and then ride it knowing it is cooling properly...hopefully.

Well as I mentioned elsewhere I rode my newly acquired Gas Gas 125 (2012) today.

My son was getting fed up with hanging around to kick start my old 1980s Montesa.

At age 82 next birthday it was getting to heavy for me anyway ! The old legs give out

more easily nowadays which makes me wonder how I coped with my BSA rigid 350

B32 Oh silly me that was 60 years ago !!  :hyper:

Fed up with awkward oil fill (not really that awkward but anyway) total oil charge can be held in the funnel so nice and easy now!
