Found one of the countersunk bolts holding the subframe and airbox to the frame was missing on Sunday just before the TC trial. Checked the others and many of them were loose. Also found the kickstart bolt was hand tight. Just thought you all should know, you might find the same ones loose on yours.

Riders! My SY250's shifting leaves a bit to be desired. Sometimes I have to hold the lever a bit to get it to go all the way in, otherwise I can get a false neutral. Happens most often in sectinons of course... that'll teach me not to shift in sections. I've been using Maxima 75wt gear oil (what I used in Betas). I've tried ATF as well. Does 10w-30 work better? Can I remove the lighting just with unplugging connectors and not cutting any wires? If I do, can I get rid of the black cylinder thing? How about the two electronics boxes? Do both stay? I'd like to simplify my bike. How does one drain the fork oil? There's no drain screw. Do I have to take them off …

  6. Started by enrico,

At last Sundays trial I managed to lose the small bolt which stops/adjusts the return of the front brake lever. This is the bolt in the front which (if I remember correctly - as once it goes missing you soon forget the detail..) doubles as the brake light switch. This didn't appear to be much of a problem as everything worked fine, just the lever blade moved further away from the handlebar than normal. However, luckily for me, just after riding the last section the little widget which actuates the master cylinder piston fell out as well, and thus no front brake. Obviously, trying to find said widget in the mud was a fruitless task! The reason for posting is that I am …

We've seen the sharp CF water pump guard Dave posted; how about any other CF stuff for the bike? Dave, it looked as though you also had some CF (or CF look stikkies) on your tank; what about a CF exhaust header heat shield? I'd like to know what's out there for the fellow with the unlimited wallet (not me! ) . I haven't really seen any place that lists the goodies available or where they can be found. The Tryals Shop site shows some fancy fork tube/slider guards & anodized flat bash plates. Where is all of the CF stuff hiding out?

    Started by Guest DGShannon,

Anyone else make the move from an '03 to an '04 recently? I have noticed an unbelievable difference in the power delivery on the '04. I presume it is the result of the new ignition module and timing changes. My '04 is much smoother, pulls lower, and revs like a banshee when you grab a hand full of throttle. Just interested to see if anyone else is experiencing the same?

  14. Started by boofont,

Just wondering what tweeks you have done to the suspension? I'm thinking of adding some pre-load to the rear, my bike tends to sump out a lot. Mind you, I am a fat git so that may have something to do with it?

  15. Started by don t.,

The info on the Tryals Shop website listed a flat skid plate for 04, yet the one on my 04 looks to be the same as the formed plate on the 03. Can anyone else with an 04 verify that they used the same plate or that mine has the wrong plate? There's a picture of the right side of mine for reference below. Looking at the water pump guard that Boofont added to his bike makes me wonder how some folks are using a coil mount from a Beta for this purpose. Anyone got any pics of that installation (or is that what you used, Boofont)? :santawink:

Does anyone ride or has ridden the SY racing. Just curious how they would compare ?? I know of a lot of the riders round my area who have tried to tune em and lighten the flywheel, which is no good. Just curious on the thoughts of the people who ride them ,as i know that they are supposed to be no good for the UK and i have never heard of or come into contact with anyone who has ridden one. Curious about what you guys across the water think ? Yours in noseyness Mark

I cut & pasted this from Todo Trials report on a visit to planet Scorpa. Seems team Crosswaite don't think you Scorpa boys in the UK can't handle a weapon with a bit of welly. The motors arrive at factory from Japan and here, first it changes to the oil, the spark plugs to them, since the Champion has a better behavior than the NGK, since the motor with them is more docile and the answer is better. Next, hydraulic clutch mounts to them and a lighter steering wheel of inertia, to make the motor most alive. The exception is the one of the models destined to Great Britain, where a behavior to the British style is preferred more, with lower, more adapted for the embarrad…

Mark, I'm having a bit of bother finding a supplier of the 747 oil you recomended. I suspect its because I live so far North, i.e Lossiemouth! How North is that then? Well, its on a par with Inverness, and as a lad that was brought up in Doncaster, I feel like the only Yorkshire pudding on a Sunday roast! I'd like to buy some mail order, can you help?
