hi all, just got back from the bike show at the NEC. and interestingly saw that birkett was there with the new 4 stroke. i had a quick stand on it and it does feel like a real trials bike, nice and slim, and most importantly, 4kg lighter than the mont 4rt birks reckons that it is mainly light at the front, whic i can understand, it is damn light, but i lifted the back end up, and it feels like the gasser. unfortunately it was purely for display purposes and i couldnt just go and have a spin, but i certainly wouldnt pass up the opportunity to have a play on one in february when they are expected to come out. also, the underseat twin pipe looks the business up close, and…

Hi, A mate of mine has a 4 month old '05 (UK bike), the bike has had light use, but he is having problems with it not reving out properly when he goes for big steps etc (revs like the bike is cold). he's tried jetting, adjusting the carb air screw, different oils, reeds, you name it. other than that its perfect and its a lovely bike. anyone any suggestions? has a Keihin carb conversion been done on a Scorpa? Hi all Was out playing on my scorpa yesterday, and was doing some hill climbs. My gear choice for hill climbs so far has always been 1st or 2nd and screem the breasts off it . I had never atempted any thing in 3rd as i thought A)the bike would not pull it from a standing start, B)i get a judder from the clutch pulling away in 2nd never mind 3rd. however i tryed a couple of hills in 3rd and it seamed to go up ok apart from said judder. So the first question has to be dose anybody know how to stop the judder, i am not sure if it's the clutch or the chain. And secondly how are people finding it on hill climbs. Cheers Glenn

Hey Guys Just looking at a pic of Shibuya's bike on a poster. Nozaki's seens to look pretty stock other than the (off the shelf) racing waterpump. Shibuya's not only has a different WP housing again but has some form of alloy tube about 45mm round and 100mm long mounted between the tank and the top of the crankcase. Any body got any ideas????? I don't think it is a toolkit BJDownunder

Friend of mine has recently bought an 04 SY250. Anyone got a wiring diagram for it. Had problems with a broken wire while out at the weekend, managed to get it sorted but a wiring diagram / schematic will help for future reference.

Is there any type of engine oil that people recommend above the others for an SY250? I've just got myself a second hand one that has been filled with bog standard engine oil - it's running a little hot and the gears seem a little clunky (I'm not certain the oil is the cause, but it needs doing anyway), so I'm hoping to give it an oil change asap.

The manual calls for a Champion RC 89PYC. Any one get good performance with other brands? Thanks Doug Wilson

Are the mods on the tys125f really worth doing? the exhaust mod and pilet jet? will this stop my scorpa from being a bit hard to start from cold and sometimes backfiring/missfiring at low revs? James

My Scorpa yys 125f fitted with the original 143 cc. kit from the autohorized dealer, showed from the beginning a big consumption of engine oil; actually after 850 Km the beast is eating 300cc. in 70 kilometers of ride! Is someone suffering of the same problem? Cicci from Italy

Hi i have a scorpa 280cc 1998 model and the gear lever has snapped off i.I have been to three places in the yorkshire area and they have all stopped being scorpa dealers so im a bit stuck as to where im gonna get a new part from looked on the internet but cant find any!!! i think the bike has the yamaha engine or so ive been told does any one where i can get the gear lever from also the clutch doesnt seem to work properl and as ive just bought the bike i am not very technically minded it runs on dot4 oil therefore i would imagine that it needs bleeding but there doesnt seem to be a nipple like on the front and back brakes with which to do this any tips …

Which plug do I require for my 05 SY 175 as it says in the book supplied with the bike CR4 HSA, but the bike came with a CR7 HSA which is the one NGK recommend for the TTR 125 engine. This plug must have been fitted to the 143cc engine from Scorpa. So would the CR4 HSA be to hot a plug, and stick with the 7 plug just to carry a spare? What about an iridium option CR7 HIX

I know this was a subject sometime ago and the new bike is due to be shown soon , on the last topic it was discussed what engine would be used ,and the only 250 Yams out at the time were WR250 and TTR250 Well i know it is only speculation and all that, but has the new Serow not recently been released with a 250 engine !! And anyone who has ridden the old Serow will testify what a super little torquey trail bike that was with only 225cc's hmmm ???

So, all you knowledgeable Scorpa dudes, when is it supposed to be going on sale in the UK or are we just supposed to be content with their very stylish PDF brochure?

OK Chaps the new TYS175 has just arrived downunder and being a yam hibrid i'm very tempted. For the sum of $7995aus she could be mine drive away.....(no road complience here) for an extra 350pounds $1000, the tys250 is also in the budget which comes with the uprated forks etc, the tys175 being the basic model. Qustion is, is 350pounds the difference between the two over there? or is it a lot more. what would be the consenses, go the 2st or save a grand $$$ and ride the less equiped machine, i'm around 100kg and don't ride anything too severe. How are the 125's depreciatng compared to the 250's over there? thanks guys

Hi, I have just bought an 04 SY250. I am after a copy of a wiring diagram or manual if anyone can help. I got a small bit of info with it but it does not have a wiring diagram or part descriptions in it!! I was also supplied with a lighting kit as it is also road reg but am a bit unsure as to how it all fits or if indeed all the bits are there!! If anyone can help I would be grateful. I have read through the posts on here and it sounds like I have made a good choice in the bike. I also cannot get onto the scorpa website - it won't go any further after clicking the logo - any ideas?? Does anyone on here use their's on the road or are they impractical for short runs?? S…

Here's an idea for you Scorpa owners, seeing that the yellow and black Yams are the flavour of the month, anyone think about tarting up their Scorpa in the fashionable colours, complete with black/white racing stripes? Has Marky still got his Scorpa? He'd be ideal.

125-175 bash plate Has anyone got any information regarding the mods done to the 125-175 sump guard, would be good to see some pics if anyone has any. Obviously done to protect the engine!
