The oil Filler Plug on my Sy250 is rounded off so i can't get it out. Iam going to have to take it somewhere for them to get it out as i dont have the know how or tools (probably) to do it. But i was wondering how you get out things like this that are rounded off, what sort of process the professionals are likely to use. Thanks Nj

I was thinking about replacing the mudguard on my 04 sy 250. It annoys me that the coating is all coming off. Why paint white on top of white plastic? Anyway are all the sy mudguards painted or are some coloured plastic? Also which bar end plugs fit the standard bars? Thanks for the help.

The SY is now on to it's 6th year? Just wondering how long Scorpa plan to make it? Is there life left in the bike? Has anyone heard if they intend to sell it alongside the 250F? Also, are they planning to release an 07 and if so has anyone picked up any infomation as to the spec? I really like the black wheels etc on the 06 and would be interested to know if Scorpa intend to keep them for the 07.

Has anyone had a jap spec conversion done on their scorpa? I have a standard one at the mo and debating wheather to get it done. Do you find the bike still grips well or not? Is'nt the conversion a lighter flywheel and advance the ignition right up? I mainley want to know if it is harder to ride in slippy conditions.... Thanks for your help!

Hi, ive been looking around for 05 Sy250s and the only ones i have found are at dealers, and cost about 2500, however i could probably find an 04 example for around 1900 (BVM currently have one, but it looks tatty to me [What do you think its on their website]) Paying 2500 for a bike would mean borrowing money off my folks. However i could by an 04 example on my own. My question is, is it worth the extra money and possible waiting for an 05 SY250? Ive read nearly every topic on here about them and still cant really make my mind up, it seems that there are very few differences except the exhaust is made of a different material at the front (or something) and the frame is…

Just came across this picture whilst having a look at a Yamaha TY site on another TC forum thread. Its from the 2005 Salives event which Mick Andrews was at. You'll have to look on the TY web site to see what he's just ridden through. What struck me though was his bike looks like a Scorpa with a 4t engine stuffed into it. Is this a prototype SYF250? If so, did Mick do the development of it (i.e. has it been developed for slippery British sections)?

sorry, another (quite) silly question... in which way I can set the -optimal- chain tension? (SY 125) I know this seems to be obvious but, actually, it is not: I read many hints/technique (including the one described in the user manual) and every one takes to a different chain tension... any side-effect if it's set too tight? thanks m.

First item: I recall a post where somebody said they could get the carb out of an SY250 without removing the subframe and air box. If that is the case, would you please post detailed instructions, thanks. Second item: The reason for having to get the carb out has been a clogged pilot jet. I'm running an in-line fuel filter. This is the second time in about a month. Since the first time this happened I purchased an air compressor, so it got a thorough blasting. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
