Scorpa

I have just bought a 2006 250 Scorpa and would like to hear from other owners about the engine. I have test riden a few other makes but have noticed that my engine does sound mechanical. By this I mean there is a whirry rumble noise. The bike has hardly been used and the previous owner looked after the bike. Is this normal on such a new and little used bike? the bike starts first ick and runs like a dream so I was a little surprised. Thanks. spangles68.

Got a problem with my 06 scorpa (7 months old) thats been doin my head in for the past month. to cut a long story short; it wont rev out; its pinging - and the strange one, when riding a section on any kind of hill/bank, it start fluffing all the way up, loses its power and when you get to the top its fine again . Its died on me in sections and then it will start first kick and will run fine for about a lap... untill it starts pis**n' about again. it used to rev really clean at the top end but now i'm lucky if it revs clean past mid range. hi can any body shed any light on how to get the Flywheel off this bike i have a extractor for the betas but this is a internal one the one on the scorpa is external what size is the thread on it was thinking of getting a nut and making one prob is was running for a hour or so then stoped for a rest wont start changed plug still no go checked spark out there is one but not very good also tryed easystart did not fire any ideas please thanks

hi all, just been to take out my sump plug on my scorpa 250 '06 and the hole does not line up with sump plug. i have taken the bolt out of the side which is level with the bottom of gear box,but only had about 350ml out of bike.how do i get the plug out without taken sump guard off?or is that the drain out on side of case.can't get spanner on sump plug,sorry can get spanner on but no leverage to get it off.and am i right it is 750ml back in?

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the Easy not wanting to change gear?? My lads got a 97 Easy, 1st and 2nd are fine but it just does not like changing up from 2nd at all. Having a bit of a problem with clutch drag aswell at the minute but put that down to it not been used for some time. Its had a change of oil but still the same. Had a go on it myself yesterday and coming down one section it sounded like a wailing banshi stuck in 2nd!!! Any ideas anyone?? Cheers

just bought '06 sy250,what a bike been struggling with sherco290.only fault the exhaust is dam hot on the legs.any suggestions for where to get covers and how much. very happy bunny

I've just received the TMX 29/09/06 here in NZ And noticed New SY160 4 Stroke advertised Fastrax Motosports and a private sale Scorpa 163R 07! Is this a new 160cc model or just the new 07 SY175F model. Also whats the price of a replacement muguard SY175F my welder broke it (honest) with the back wheel out on side stand it fell he tried to catch it with the mudguard and guess what!! Is the 125 one the same price?

taken the plunge and invested in a 125f for fish (the boy). Received me jets from birks and intend on breaking open the tail pipe and liberating the 2 baffles...... Anybody got any other good set up tips other than the carb and exhaust? what gearing? Will post pics when its all sparkly and tidied up....... Andy

I have been asked to adjust the valve clearance on a mates 125 and don't know the valve clearance. Can't find it anywhere. Can any one help please? It is a swine to start when cold, I was thinking that the valve adjustment might be a factor in this. Once started it goes first kick, even when it cools down. Leave it for the week and the problem comes back. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Since I didn't get a manual with my son's 97 Easy, I'm wondering what type of transmission oil fluid is recommended? I use ATF in my GG 280 pro. Someone told me the Easy used 10W30 motor oil....Any info would be appreciated.

After 1 year struggling with my previous bike it was time to change and a Scorpa will do the job nicely.I like the idea of an exhaust that wont burn my leg and no suspension linkages to grease.The handlebars are higher as well.Ill do more testing this weekend and post more info.

Has anyone had the conversion done? How much extra oooomphph!!!! did you get for your 20cc? Was it worth it?

hello, where is the oil filter on the scorpa 125 4T engine? how should I clean it? also, I've got some problems setting the magura hyd. clutch. it slips a little bit, especially when the engine is warm, so I tried to tweak that red setting screw, but it does not change anything.... any helps? Hi chaps, I will be taking delivery of a new 175f in a couple of weeks having traded mt 04 sy250, the reason for this move is I am having lots of problems with the tendons in the elbows etc: (just an age thing) and one of the main agitators is continued clutch/brake action, especially the last few laps of a long trial. To cut a long story short, in theory a 4st shouldn't need so much work, question is how many of you have made the change from Sy to 4st and what is the general concensus??? I still love my SY and would rate it as the best all round trials iron for nthe average joe. What are the current recommended mods, unfortunatly my 175 will be the only one in West Aus…

Can anyone tell what the performance difference between the English spec SY 250 & the R spec SY 250 Scorpa.

Finally got a decent ride on my bike after being so busy at work.This is the first time i felt i was in control of a trials bike and it was a fun day.Smooth power that gets traction is confidence inspiring for a learner.The brakes are good and the suspension tracked the ground well and didnt go off the chosen line.Mine is a UK spec one which is good for our type of riding.Im happy and can say most people will like them.Our countrys best rider chooses to ride one so its only a matter of skill from this point. Why is the Scorpa site so quiet compared to the other ones. Are there only GG out there or are Scorpas so reliable we dont need to talk about them ???

Just picked up my lads new scorpa easy, does anyone know what year the grey colour version is? Must be going colour blind I thought it was blue when I bought it....

Are Scorpa doing any changes etc for 07, are they even still making them for 07 or is it only four strokes next year. Anybody heard anything?

Just got my las a scorpa easy '97 Problem is he only weighs about 8 stone and is struggling to start it. Anyone got any suggestions? (apart from eating all the pies) Cheers
