I have contaminated my disc pads on my SY250. I am going to take them out and bake them in the oven which works on my MTB bike. Any tips for removing and cleaning and replacing the disc pads on a scorpa sy250?

Hi guys looking for a bit of advice. I am looking just now at both a 2001 and a 2005 SY 250's and was just wondering how much difference is there performance wise between these. This will be my first trials m/c. I am not a novice in terms of riding a motorcycle (19 years of mx) and have done some mountain bike trials over the past 6 or 7 winters. Just wondering would I feel the difference and is there any mechanical reason ie better suspension that I should get the newer machine. Cheers Guys

Just started playing around on my newly aquired TYS125, the clutch seems a little grabby, is there a mod for this? Longer or extended actuating arm? Any other mods I should consider for the 125, jets and exhaust have been done, going for a 10T front sprocket as well. ta Jon

I noticed at Hawkstone that the Scorpa's were sporting rear mufflers with only one outlet feeding out to the right hand side of the machine as opposed to the usual two, is this a 2008 mod or already standard. The bike sounds a little less bubbley/flutterey and more like the Beta's 4T, I havn't seen the mod yet in Aus. Any thourghts? Sorry I should have taken a pic!

More carb fiddling last night, double checking everything again. I've fitted a little piece of stainless tube inside the rubber connecting tube between airbox and carb (I think this is a Birket tip!) Found the tube in work, a piece of hoover piping was just the right thickness and diameter and appears to be stainless too. Cut off an 1 1/2" and squeezed it in there, holds the circular shape now without the rubber getting kinked. Dunno if this makes any difference but it looks better and I think it was easier to refit the rubber to the carb as you had something to grip I've got enough left over for a couple more, if any one want's a bit drop me a line with yer addy, or I…

New bike doing well, got my best result in my class two weeks ago. Got a minor problem which seems carb related though, starts fine, idles fine, jets recommended sizes but it will bog down easily if the throttle is opened really quickly. For instance if you try and left the wheel from low rpm's by throttle alone rather than rev up a bits and clutch, it bogs completely. Once its up and spinning response seems fine. Haven't checked needle position, what should it be? Oh and while I'm typing, what grade of fork oil should i use and how much per leg? cheers Jon

Hello all-firstly can anybody tell me if the 163cc on the TYS200F model puts any significant wear on the big end bearings as this is afterall just a bored and stroked 125 insnt it? 2. does the seat available from Scorpas longride fit to the racing series without any modifications? 3. does the longride come in the red white & black colours? (i like em) I think Scorpa are bang on in catering for those of us who like our trial bikes more versatile and for LDT's or recreational use. I mean i like all aspects of trials but i sometimes like to head off into the awkward stuff on our Spanish holidays and a big enduro bike is not the way to go about some of the stuff ive ri…

I have a Scorpa 1999 Easy, great bike but I have a cracked fork boss at the axle clamp. I live in Ventura California and am basically alone for trials riding pals. Does anyone have advice on this problem, I am planning to have it welded and hope for the best. Also any instruction for removing the lower end of the fork?...........learning as I go. Does anyone have a supplier for affordable replacement forks?? Thanks, Bob

This is less of a serious topic, but more of a pipe dream. Has anyone put a more current YZ250 motor with power-valve into a SY250? The new YZ Motors would be great in a trials bike, and the new Carbs are amazing.. As are the power valves. I can only imagine how much fun I'd have on a SY250 long ride with some serious snap to it. Oh, with that said, does anyone have a SY250 Racing Flywheel they'd like to sell, or swap for my Long Ride flywheel? Thanks, Jon

Hi folks, I heard a rumour that 2007 will be the last year that Scorpa produce the SY 250, with the four stroke being the only 'large' model to be sold. Does anyone know if this is true? I hope this is not the case! I am a fan of the Scorpa & can have no compliants about my trusty SY at all. I have not tried the four stroke, but to be honest none of the current crop of four strokes have impressed me greatly so far. Why not keep the formula the same & keep churning out exactly the same model year after year. If it aint broke.... Cheers

Hello, I'm new to moto trials having ridden bicycle trials for around 4 years now and I'm having some trouble with my bike not starting. I was riding it today and from cold it was a bit lumpy so i revved it up for a while before jumping on and just cruising around trying to warm it up. It decided to stall so i started it up again it ran for about 10secs before it started to die so i gave it some throttle and it just gave up. Now it won't start at all. When kick starting it i can hear it wanting to turn over and occasionaly it does start but then i just get a belch of smoke out the exhaust and it dies. Any idea what this could be? i'd really appreciate some advice!…

Will be looking at a 125 scorpa shortly, SY model. Is there anything specific to watch out for? I'm OK with the usual stuff, just anything scorpa or 4stroke come to think of it. Thanks.

Hi, Just bought a used one of these and it looks like the bike's 'done a bit'. I've got the owners manual which gives some info and torques for the axles, but does anyone know where I can find any other info? Preferably the following: 1). Other torque settings for the swingarm, shock, pinch bolts, fork clamps, etc, etc. 2). Owners manual mentions a paper oil filter - where's this located? Behind the drain plug, or will I need to remove the bashplate to locate it? 3). How to check and adjust the bucket and shim valves, and what the tolerances are? Cheers,
