While prepping my 125f for a trial tomorrow I was checking the oil and noticed the level had risen. On inspection saw that I had accidentally had the fuel tap on reserve and not OFF and the bike had been stood for a couple of weeks. I think fuel has been seeping in slowly and filling the sump. As the carb and float height are sensitive on the 125 just thought I would point this out to other Scorpa 125/175 riders on here. Cheers

On the Australian site it indicates that the air cooled scorpa will be available with a 200 motor. I see a few mentions in the forum about a 168 version of the 175, any other info or online links about this one? http://www.thehellteam.com/bikesSY175F.html

  4. Hi there, I'm just figuring out my new bike, which I love riding.. But it seems like I might have an ignition issue. Perhaps timing? When riding fast down connecting trails, the engine seems to pre-ignite and knock. It only seems to happen at high RPM. My jetting is stock, and so is my timing. Should I be adjusting the timing to a better spec than stock? I'm not running race gas. Thanks, Jon

My sprocket bolts came loose today. I lost three and didnt notice any problem until the sprocket came off the hub. Without noticing any increased drag or any noise the loosened bolts had gouged a channel out of the inside of the swinging arm. They had almost worn right through before I realised. Obviously this highlights the need to check these bolts regularly and make sure they stay tight. A loose bolt can clearly cause a lot of damage very quickly. I was wondering; has anyone had to replace a swinging arm on an SY 250 and if so how much did the replacement cost? Am I going to need a second mortgage?

Hi everybody, i've been keeping a check on my oil because my bike has been realy smokey.the last twice i've checked it (using the bolt under the kickstart) i've had to top it up.My question is how hard is it to split the casing,& is the water pump tricky to line up and will i have to split the engine to change the seal or will i be able to just pop it out & fit the new one. CHEERS.

The Tryals Shop is a couple weeks from putting one together and testing. Give them some time per jetting, head work and the lot. Cost will be under $500USD.

I am missing sometjing ? Just spent the last hour trying to take the front wheel out of my 05 SY250 First up, loosened and took out the 3 allen bolts on the RHS fork leg, then tried to undo the spindle with a 12mm allen key.Was getting tight, and the disc was pushing on the caliper. Took the caliper off. The spindle unscrews easily, but the wheel pulls over to the RHS fork leg, then when it gets to the leg the spindle just turns.....!!! when you tighten it, it does tighten back up no problem.... Am I missing something !!!!! It has been a long day at work - and I must have taken hundreds of front whels off over the years !!! cheers John.

Hello all, I am a new member so I'm not sure if this thread is in the correct place. My Dad has a 2005 Scorpa 250, the problem is that after it has been ridden for a while if you leave it and try to start it again it floods. It floods so badly that it fills the crankcase up with fuel with no hope of starting until all the fuel has been removed. The plug has been burning a nice brown and the reed valves are in good shape. I would think that the bike has been running rich during normal operation but I would expect to see evidence on the plug. Is it purely a jetting issue, would it be worth just dropping the needle or has someone come across this on one of…

Hi, i posted something about this on the backend of someone elses post, (sorry for attempted hijack) I left it there for a while but now decided to try and start a new thread. My SY250 is great for (southern) clubtrials, the power delivery is perfect for off camber turns and getting traction. However recently i have been riding a much larger piece of land which contains rocks and giant climbs. However im a bit scared of attempting them on the Scorpa, i know im capable, however im worried i wont get it right as i cant get the bike to rev freely enough for me to gain traction at the bottom and carry me to the top (without a lot of strain anyway!). This means i have to us…

Hi, Just made a snap decision on an SY250, 05 model. Im moving from a Beta 200, and prior to that a Scorpa 125 4T (had one of the first in the country). Questions which have been probably been covered before.....! Petrol/Oil - Currently run the Beta on 70cc per 5 litres, carry on the same with the scorpa ? One of my riding mates had an SY250 04 for a year, and never had any problems, but anything I should look out for / check ? As I said, I know the previous owner of the bike I'm buying, know it's been well looked after and a genuine bike..... Loved the Beta - great bike, well recommended, but looking forward to being back on a Scorpa ! cheers John.

Is anyone out there using the flat bash plate for thier 175? is it worth the $$$? Can anyone give me a comparrison between the power of the 168cc vis the 143cc? would a conversion be worth it? My 175 will not fully rev out, for 99.99% of stuff she is fine its just that .01%????? The bike has all the Birkett mods, jetting muffler etc: and the carby, plug and needle postion have all been checked. Any ideas?
