Scorpa

OK well I'm very confused now... I've been looking around at SY250's trying to figure out what to buy. BUT now I've seen one saying it was a 4 stroke - I thought they we're all 2 strokes!?! Just done some looking around and see on TMX News that Scorpa indeed do 4 stokes. So are they all thumpers, or are there 2 stroke as well? HELP! Cheers - Boner.

Help, mate of mine has got a scorpa 250 02 and the tank is leaking from where a bolt or screw should be at rear of the tank.He bought it a few weeks ago off ebay and it looks if its been tadged up with gobbo or something (havnt seen it myself ).Does anybody know of anywhere that could plastic weld it or fill it for him or tell him how to do it his self any help would be appreciated. New tanks

Hello, I am new to this so please forgive any duplication of this topic or any mistakes. I have a Scorpa Easy 250 (grey & yellow tank) and the front disc floats a little side to side but also back and forth which does not seem right. I have an exploded diagram of the front wheel assembly which shows the disc, some spacers and the bolts to hold it all together. These are in place and there does not seem to be anything missing. I have never come across a disc which has this type of movement before, can anyone shed light on it? The bike is in good repair so I hope it will be okay to get me started in trials, is there anything I should look out for in terms of maintai…

Hi, I finally have got the chance to start riding again after several years out. I have a Scorpa easytrial 280 cci sh about 95 ish, it has a black tank, with a yellow and purple colour sceme for the plastics. I still haven't had the chance to ride it since buying it several years ago. First outing back then the throttle cable snapped 1m in to the event, a week after fixing this arrived at trial , signed in , started it up and was about to go when I realise the back brake was no longer working. So it got stuck in the shed for 2 years whilst I tried in vain to make time to work on it. But now I've moved to Cornwall and have a nice garage of my own I want to try once…

Hello Scorpa people! Just bought my first trials bike, having owned various air cooled trials bikes years ago - which were only used for playing on. New bike 05 SY250. Been regularly used for 3 years. I was wondering : How often do you change the silencer - and other parts of the exhaust ? Ditto - piston, main bearings, etc ? Do you recommend a mod into the float bowl brass nut that creates an easy way of draining the flaot bowl ? - because my bike has one ? ! The engine is a tad noisy and reminds me of a TY250 that I once owned - I always reckon it sounded like main bearings - but that could just have been paranoia ! I know where the drain plug is, but I presume the filler is the plastic cap on the right hand side with the breather tube coming off it? 1) Is this correct? 2) Why is there a breather tube on it? Thanks!

At a trial this afternoon, and arrived at the first section (right next to the car park). Coolant was coming out of the overflow (I have the overflow pipe cable tied to the frame, directed at the exhaust). Didn't think a great deal - rode to the second section, and it was the same, and the third and so on. Not constantly coming out, but regularly. Finished the first lap and topped the water up - there wasn't a great deal had gone out. Second lap - exactly the same - regular overflow of coolant - and (couldnt figure this out) - the fan was constantly on....... Hello everybody,just a question about gearbox oil,i'm running my SY on motul 10/30 but my mate has just started to put ATF fluid in his GasGas with good results. Just wondering if any one out there has tried it in their SY. And was it better or worse. THANKS.

I am going to give my old 03 SY 250 a bit of a makeover, Bearings, Filters, Pads, Plastics, Stickers etc. Who is the best / cheapest supplier. Cheers, Vaughan.

I am wondering if the new 250 fi is going to go to trials, I think it might if it proves reliable. I believe the 5 valve engine to be a good design, I have a WR400F and like it. But four valves are probably enough. I haven't seen the new 250 and don't know the weight comparison between the two. What do ya'll think/know? Neil King

Hi there, I am considering riding the SSDT next year, I am currently riding an 07 175F and was wondering how the people who rode them this year got on????? I know narita got on well but I am more interested in the clubmen riders, i'm not really interested in the results more the perfomance of the bike. Was it quick enough over the moor and on the road etc. I have done the loch lomond 2 day on it and found that ok, although it was a bit slow over the moor. Any info would be great. Cheers spike

Hello everybody, need some help or advice please, i've got an sy 250 2001 & she realy chuffs the smoke out the exhaust. I'm running her on castrol tts at 80:1 to 5ltrs fuel,which i'm told is 62.5 mls of oil,but she chuffs like a steam train its quite embarrising when your sitting waiting to do the section & there's clouds of smoke every where any help would be very gratefull. thanks.

07 SY250. For some reason it has been overheating lately. I've checked the obvious, Coolant is full, except for a little bit gone from the overflow. Fan works Impellar is in good condition and spins Coolant in good condition Radiator is NOT clogged, so that air can pass through the cooling fins Not sure what else it can be??

Just bought a 07 sy250 off me friend mint condition anyway rode last weekend and very impressed ,espescially how torquey it is,but i think the clutch is draggin a bit. He sez its got recommened motul vegatable based oil in it,but im thinkin bout changin it for putoline GP10 synthetic which i had in me TXT. Which is best synthetic or vegatable? cheers blok
