Rode yesterday (well 2 sections), before my SY 250 (2007) failed to start after falling on its (right) side while I was looking at a section. No amount of kicking and bumping could get it going and because it was bl**din' hot yesterday, I couldn't be ar**d to remove tank etc to establish potential cause, so shoved it back in the van. Before I dive in, any clues as to what's up???

My bike has been stalling too often. Typically when going down hill or nose wheelies. The idle is fine. I'm assuming it may be the float height? I'm thinking it may have bent with the riding and abuse I impose. Sound reasonable? You know the only problem with working on the Scorpas is getting at the carb, so I'd like any suggestions before digging in. Thanks

I saw this and would be interested in buying it - I am a beginner to trials though ride a lot of enduro. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCORPA-TRIALS-2003_W...1QQcmdZViewItem What would your opinion be? Is it worth the buy it now price? I would hope to get it a couple hundred cheaper maybe? Or is that unlikely I can view the bike first - what should I look for, what problems may be on this machine? What other questions should I ask? Since I don't ride trials should I be bothered about odd dents and scratches? Is this a good bike for a beginner? Should I wait for a montesa 315 to turn up? (more robust? so better for a beginner?) Thanks for your advice

Hi Guys, I have an '01 SY250 (my first trials bike & first 2 stroke). It's had the barrel replated also piston & main bearings renewed a couple of years ago. I run it on shell alphamax & mobul 510 synthetic 2-stroke oil @ 50/1 mix. It generally runs like a sweetie. The carb mixture is set as per the manual with coolant present & correct. Today I noticed a significant knocking from the engine at tickover. The knock cannot be heard above tickover & I rode it home ok. With no previous experience of 2-strokes I'm looking for advice for my next course of action please. Thanks, wuzzy

Just cleaning my 4T carb, stripped down the thing and was wondering if there should be a spring on top of the diaphragm which is under the little cover on the side of the carb? The cover has one csk screw and one button head screw with a little diaphragm dodah under there, is there meant to be a spring between the cover and the daiphragm? (can't find a diagram for it online) Ta for any info, Jon

Well then I am looking for some answers on this one because I have no idea whats happened. As the SSDT is nearly upon us and I am on night shift This week is the perfect time for me to prep my bike. I started off all well and good by stripping the bike down to the bones and giving it a good clean, then I thought it would be a good idea to check out the carb, now I dont know a great deal about carbs so i didn't want to mess with it too much, I took the float bowl off to see if there was any muck in there, it was clean as a whistle, happy days, so I put it back on, I then removed the choke and inspected it, same as before clean. Next step change the throttle cable, easy …
