Hi was wondeing if anyone has had work done to try and clean up the carburetion on their Scorpa sy250. Theyre pretty good as they come but I've always liked to get my bikes as clean running as possible, with little loading up, at the bottom end particularly. So what would people suggest, jet work or would anyone recomend porting work on the cylinder? The bike is running 80:1 on super unleaded and has standard timing for british models. Any ideas apreciated. cheers

Just a quick one for you TYS 125/175/200 owners, I fitted a 08 bash plate to my 07 200 and it is a definate improvment to the machine. As you are aware the only drawback to a fantastic and highly capable machine is the ground clearance and bash plate that can hang you on some rocks/logs etc: Although the ground clearance doesn't change with the 08 bashplate the bike slides easyer over obstacles and is less likley to get caught up, also it protects you side casings a bit better. So for a small outlay I recommend giving the old girl a face lift, you can even spend some $$ on the bike as well

  3. I ride enduro but not trails. People on TC recommended th Sy as a good beginner bike and the best at finding traction in the mud (UK=mud). Also the montesa 315 was recommended for build quality and no spannering required. The Gassers sounded revvy, traditionally poor(er) build quality and much harder to ride by one beginner though maybe later 05, 06models are better? I went to see one SY in Manchester but it was a dog - terrible condition. Since then none close to me and I'm not prepared to keep travelling the length of the country looking for one. There are 2 Gassers near me a 2005 300 Raga and a 2006 txt pro which sound/look in very good condition for

just had my stator rewound on my 99 easy the bike fired up first kick however i have lost the bottom end revs , its just not right when you are at tickover and want some power , it hesitates and you have to keep blipping the throttle or it will stall i have tried moving the stator plate and its better when its retarded but will only then start with the choke it looks like it could be the carb but having the stator repaired i am thinking they may be a problem anybody shed any light on the problem or anybody know any carb settings also i have been told you dont need the analogue box under the seat but surely its there for a reason thankyou jez

Hi all. Im back again with another dumb question. I have a 1997 easy 250. My mate is looking at buying a local 1997 Easy 280 and i will be going to have a look at it with him. So what is the difference between the 280 and 250? Is it just a different top end or are there other differences too? What should i be looking out for? What kind of things should be raising a red flag on it (besides obvious things like engine rattles etc)? We are both mechinacally savvy, he is a bike mechanic and restorer and i have been stripping and rebuilding my bikes for about 15 years now. Any help appreciated as always. TTFN

Just repacked the exhaust silencer, couldn't find any sign of restrictor bars in there, apparently not all of the restriction should be removed. Can any one enlighten me? A pic of what they should look like would be great. Thanks, Jon
