Hello My brother has bought a 96 easy 250, but its having problems running. It has the dellorto phbh carb. When i got it the carb was filthy so i gave it a clean out but i could not get the flow bowl to fill up. On closer inspection i noticed that the float level was way too low and it was always shutting the flow of fuel as if it was full. I adjusted the float level and now the flow bowl does fill up. I managed to get the bike running, but found it would not tick over. I have adjusted the floats agin and it will now run fine when the choke is on. I have adjusted the mixture to get it just right. My life with my scorpa has nto had the best of starts, now more problems, I took my bike out tonight after work, so strapped it in the van this morning, then when i got to it tonight, there was oil on the floor and has been seaping out of one of the fork seals! has this blown the shock? or just the seal? Second i have a tapping coming from what sounds like the top end of the engine, the noise is kind of like a drill on hammer setting if that makes sence? And i know the scorpas have a whine but usually in second/third it will have a big whine then go if reving the bike I know theres alot to take in there but any help would be appreciated, Thanks Matt

Does anyone out there know if Boysen makes a dual stage reed for the 250R. Boysen's site doesn't list one...but surly one of the hundreds they make fits. Any help?

Does anyone know of an after-market repackable silencer to fit SY250? Or failing that could another Wes type silencer be modified to fit.

Hello group. I hope you don't mind a visit from a Montesa owner :-) Can anyone enlighten me about the clutch pack composition of a SY250F? I am working on improving clutch action in my enduro bike (Yamaha wr250F) which is based on the same engine as the SY250F. Comparing the parts diagrams I see the clutch boss, clutch basket, and pressure plate are identical. The difference is actuator arm, and clutch plates. Actuator arm is longer, I presume? I would appreciate an actual measurement. But the real mystery to me is the clutch pack. The parts diagram shows 5 friction plates, 5 steel plates, and 1 mystery plate. Just been out on my first ride on my 06 sy and its horrible to ride, firstly the suspension is very hard on the front, this may sound dumb but which way do i turn the knob on top of the suspension to soften it? clockwise or anti?? next the clutch lever doesnt return to the handlebar and the clutch action just feels notchy so any help on setting this up would be appreciated thanks

bought an 06 sy250 2 weeks ago and just noticed there are 2 yoke bolts snapped! 1 on top yoke and 1 on the bottom, and the prev owner has put silicon in between the crack! i couldn't beleive it, ill never by a bike on ebay again! How do i go about getting the end out, could i do it with the forks still on or would i need to remove them? Also i have bought a new rear sprocket 42tooth, originally it had a 37tooth, now the chain wont fit, can you buy small lenghts of chain? or would i need to buy a bigger chain? I was going to try rock oil lite gear oil in my easy, does anyone use it (in any bike) and what are your views. i was recomeneded this by a well known old boy of trials, but am unsure if it will work in newer motors.

The front brake of my 250sy is binding, have altered it to the limit at the lever end in fact if i remove the lever altogether it still binds!

My friend bought a nice 03 sy 250 last week, but it seems to be smoking a lot when hot or cold!! he said its using a lot of petrol too, i thought it might be the exhaust saturated with 2 stroke oil, but he thinks it might be the rings???? any ideas before we strip it???

Hey guys, On the side of the engine cases on my 08 250R it says 700cc oil, but in my Scorpa owners manual it says 600cc. So which is correct and would 100cc make that much difference? I know on my previous GAS GAS's higher gear oil volume causes shifting problems. Anyone know about the Scorpas? Thanks.

Hi, Just wondering if any one can help me. I've just bought an '03 Scorpa SY250 and i'm not really sure what oil mixture to run it on. Is there a recommended ratio? What mixture do you use/recommend? Thanks Dan

the brakes on my sy250 06 are pretty pants, pads have probably 2mm left on them, so i was going to replace these and bleed the system fully, there are so many pads about on ebay and in online shops i want to know what the best reasonably priced pair around are, thanks in advance matt
