Hi Does anyone have a picture or description of the proper throttle cable, switch wiring, and brake hose routing from the bars to the engine? The used bike I bought has them all running between the right lower yoke and frame which doesn't seem correct.. There doesn't seem to be enough room, so the previous owner ziptied a chunk of foam on the yoke for padding but of course they are still getting pinched when turning right. I think I could find better places for them all but if anyone knows the right way it would save me some fooling around. thanks

Hello all Over the past week my scorpa has been experiencing running problems. It starts up fine and runs. However once it has been rode for about 5-10 mins (once its warmed up) it start to miss fire and looses all power. I am unsure if it is electrical or fuelage problem. I have removed the stator but that looks okay but i am sending it to get checked over to be sure. Has any body else had this problem? or does anybody might know what it could be? Any help is appreciated Thanks Ant

Hi, how hard is it to split the casings on my scorpa ? There's a little noise thats really annoying me, I think it's possibly the little/big ends, but not really sure. Just a bit of a rattle/knock. A friend told me to try a different 2stroke oil, and higher octane fuel ( I use normal unleaded ), as some bikes just don't like certain oils ??? I use silkolene comp II, which is about as good as it gets I believe.......I may be wrong though ! Any thoughts ? Do scorpas always sound like this ? I may be worried about nothing.

At a recent trial where alot of the sections were wet and muddy and required a whole load of right hand. The problem comes right at the very top end of the revs when rather than keep reving it it just levels off and "hunts" around that rpm. I also noticed there is air coming back through the fuel line from the carb toward the tank is this normal/the cause??? I have changed the plug and wire-locked the fuel lines to their respective attaching points to ensure no air getting in through the hoses and tried different carb settings but it still the same. Anyone any ideas???

At my trial on Sunday I noticed some guys with huge sprockets on the rear, made mine look tiny, so I'd like to try something bigger than the standard 38, what size would you recommend for starters ??

What kinda gearbox oil is best suited for my sy250 ? I used to put rock oil 10/40 in my 200 ktm enduro, but trials is all new to me, so not sure if that would be best for it also ???

Just got myself an 07 sy250 and am brand new at the sport so excuse my stoopid questions if you will. 1) What gearing should I be running, as the rear sprocket seems a bit small compared to other scorpas I've seen. 2) How much gearbox oil should I put in when changing the oil 3) 4 psi in the rear ?? Probably many more stoopid questions to come but that'll do for starters Thanks in advance

I'm looking for a front hub for a 2002 sy 250. The previous owner on the bike used some insane thread locker for the disc bolts and in trying to dirll them I made a mess of the hub. Does anyone have any ideas. I'm in Canada but will have shipped from anywhere.

Hi all, I recently put a new air filter in, and oiled it......I think I put a bit too much oil in the filter though, so I washed it straight afterwards before fitting. Recently I have had a few issues, thinking that the bike seems to be a bit bland. I was thinking of putting a set of rings in, to see if the power came back. Last night I washed the filter again, and used almost boiling water, so now there is only a little oil remaining, I nearly flipped the bugger earlier.....the power difference is amazing. Just thought I'd share this incase anyone else has the same issues. Also I have just bridged the fan, as for some reason the bike seems to run a lot better when …

just got my custom Boyesen reeds in and installed (carbon fiber). After an initial scare (seems the carbon reeds raised the idle by about 4000rpm's!), tried them out in many conditions. Aside from the idle speed difference (easily fixed), no drastic changes...just noticable throtle response improvements at all rpms....much better at lower and higer revs. I no longer notice the percieved "reed flutter" at very high revs. Aside from the act of congress it takes to get at them...i definitely recomend this mod...and since I paid the initial "drafting" fee, they should be affordable.

After over three years of use including this years SSDT my fork seals have finally had it! I've not changed them on SY (its an '03 by the way) forks so if anyone can offer some advice it would be appreciated. I've got manual but its for an earlier version of the forks so I'm not sure if its still the same infomation. How much oil should I be putting in for example? Thanks!

Hi. I am new to trials, thanks for this great site. Yesterday I bought myself a 2006 scorpa SY 250. I rode it for the first time today (just up and down the road for a few minutes). The clutch would not release!! The bike has not been used much for the last year. I suspect the clutch plates are sticking together, just like in some of the older Yamaha XT enduro models when they had not been used for a few weeks. I tried putting the bike in 3-rd gear and giving it gas but that did not help. What can I do? Should I simply tear into the clutch and manually free up the disks?

I've recently bought an 03 SY250 and don't like the white rear mudguard. If I bought a later, blue mudguard, will the colour match the tank? If not, how far away are the two blues?

Good Evening. I have a Scorpa SY 125. Has a IRC winner Tubeless tyre on the rear with a tube. It has one security bolt. Will this be enough? Also is there a mod for the rear brake pedal to stop it tangling with the Kickstarter? Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou

What type of money should I be looking at and what niggles should I be aware of and checking for when I view. If it were another Beta I would know!! Thanks in Advance

Hi all My ‘06 SY250 has a little clutch sticking problem at the beginning of a ride. Nothing big, but I could do without it. Has anyone here run ATF type F in their SY250 (Yamaha engine)? Any problems? Leaks? Less or more clutch sticking? I read someplace that Dextron ATF can cause clutch plate swelling…. but I don’t know if it is true.. anyone know?
