  2. Hi all, Thinking about getting a trials bike next year. The little 4t Scorpa looks quite appealing, but I wonder how something like a TY250 mono would compare. Reasons for considering both are: Price (

I changed the oil in my recently acquired 08 SY2T for the first time last week, i have always used motul expert 10w40 and i totaly swore by it. The clutch control on theis bike was out of this world, i have had a good few scorpas and the clutch on the bike was someting else, i always drop the oil ect on any new bike i get. when i took the sump bolt out the oil just fell out! this stuff was sooo thin (and it was actualy clean!) After putting the motul 10w40 the clutch was like every other scorpa i have had, but simply not as good as with the thin oil that came out. Has anyone got any idea what this thin stuff could be? am going to try some PJ1 75w ultra lite but i thoug…

  7. Alright lads just wondering if anyone could help. I had recently removed the engine from my 2007 SY250 to get the sump bolt threads redone on the casing which was done at a local bike shop. When putting the engine back in the bike I have noticed that I seem to have no spring action on the clutch arm on the engine casing (never really payed much attention to this when removing clutch slave in the first place). The clutch master cylinder appears to work fine but I have no spring return from the clutch itself. I've never really had much to do with this on the bike so was just after any advice/ diagnosis. Thanks Mike.

Last night I noticed that my chain block tensioner has worked loose, so I decided to cut it off, as I noticed it just as I was ready to play. I have ordered another and spring, but not sure about how the arm fits/swings ?? Should it be loose/free so it can move back and fourth ??

I've been reading through a lot of the posts in the Scorpa specific area, There seems to be a bit of difference in opinion about what mixture to run the bike on ! I would assume this would depend on what octane of fuel and type of 2 stroke oil used (full/semi synthetic) I tend to use 97/99 Ron fuel and mostly Ipone fully synthetic oil !! Bike is an 08 SY250 Can someone clear up how much oil i shoud be adding ( in ml ) to 5 litres of fuel ???? Thanks in advance

Righty, the wee scorpa isn't running properly and looking for some thoughts/opinions... I'll start at the beginning.... Since I bought it, it has ran perfectly well, and starts first kick pretty much every time. Out last week and it ran well again but ran out of fuel , didn't think I'd went any further than I had previously but never thought any more about it. Got home, re fuelled bike. Bike had sat since then.... Went out tonight, loaded bike up, came back in, fannied around for half an hour then went out to car to a huge smell of fuel. Checked bike and there was fuel all over the back of the motor . Took it out, cleaned up mess, switched fuel off, and off I went..…

  12. Started by houseape1000,

I have just bought some PJ1 silverfire for my 03 scorpa......Does anyone else use it, it says rated to 50-1,(didn't now that when I bought it)... does that mean it offers no protection after that ! I only bought it as I thought I'd try a different oil, I usually use silkolene comp 2, full synth, but the PJ1 is a blend. Should I leave the PJ1 on the shelf for the mower, and buy some more fully synthetic ? I always run at 15ml to a litre, 75-1 !

Hello, Can someone please help me? I'm looking to buy a secondhand Scorpa SY250 and would like to know how I can tell the differance between a 2002-2003 &2004 models other than the frame colour. Also how do you recongise a UK model from an import. One last question is there any specific weak points I need to look out for? Thanks Martin P.S. if you have a bike for sale please contact m_pennycook@hotmail.com

  14. Started by andy m,

I have had to ride the Scorpa 125 recently and realised how snappy it is right at the bottom end compared to my TLR200. Talking to another 125 owner today he has carried out a mod by removing the woodruff key and retarding the ignition by half the keys thickness. Has anyone else here done the same or is there any other way to do it as I would imagine the crank nut would need tightening well without the key in ?? I had heard of this mod before and never followed it up but had a go on his 125 and noticed a difference.

Hey all I can remember reading somewhere that the 10% ethanol pump gas etches the scorpa fiberglass tank and causes the pilot jet to clog. I sort of ignored it as possibly another internet urban legend but low and behold my bike would not run without the choke on last time I started it. I removed the carb, the float bowl had lots of flotsom in it. it sort of looked like small pieces of cotton balls floating in the fuel. Pilot jet was clogged. I emptied my fuel tank and there was quite a bit of white colored fibers floating in the fuel. Have any other scorpa owners seen this issue from pump gas? I guess I could use VP fuel but it is not alwasy readily available and expens…
