I lost the end of my shift lever this weekend. I can make a new one, but I was hoping to get a photo of the original since I can't remember what it looked like. I just need a closeup of the spring loaded tip: anyone with a digital camera and a Scorpa SY250??? P.S. I keep shoving my lever into my magneto cover, and I have already beat the cover back into shape and TIG welded it closed, but I often consider milling a two piece cover from billet on my CNC mill. I could mill a 2 piece cover with a simple flat outer piece made from 1/4" flat aluminum (with a small 'bump' for the crankcase nut), and the remainder of the cover milled from from a thick (1 1/2") chunk of bill…

has anyone had any problems with the magura clutches as mine seems to be leaking fluid from where it pulls the cable (the brass nut). i have'nt taken it of yet as its not loosing much but will have to soon but me and spanners are a bad mix. also is anyone just running on a cable pull ifso whats it like???? thanks Rod.

Hello all I have recently bought a 96 scorpa easy 250 and have had a running problem with it. Firstly the carb was not the correct one, so i bought a keihin conversion, then i replaced the piston rings etc as there was no compression, but still had the same running problem. Which then left the stator plate. I sent it away to west country windings who have informed me that the pick up has failed and these are hard to come by. Do you know anywhere i can get a second hand stator, or if anybody has one spare? it has to be a 280ohm pick up. Many Thanks Ant

Hi, please help! Does anybody know where I can get a fan regulator/rectifyer, or if there is a compatible one from another bike. I am not sure if there is one on my bike, there is something located above the fan in an almost impossible to reach place, but I think Ive read this is the lighting regulator. Can anybody clarify, its driving me mad, this weather is killing it with no fan....if you listen carefully you should hear it scream... All info gratefully recieved. Thanks, Andy.

Hope this is not too stupid of a question...but I have a gut feeling I've gotten out of adjustment carbwise. Here are the symptoms: 1. lots of "spooge" coating the the inner tailpipe, different oils and mixtures up to 80:1 do not alter the amount. 2. routine backfiring upon killing the bike ... generally occurs just after rides betwen sections, not after riding a section. 3. "phantom" engine revs...after a long ride between sections, the bikes rpm steadily climbs with no throttle input, several thousand rpm's, not just a few hundred. I can make them subside with putting a load on the clutch or gassing the throttle. But it will resume and continue for a few minutes b…

I have recently bought, what I am led to believe, a scorpa easy 250 1996 in black and yellow. It sounds like it is misfiring, and a little short on grunt, the same sound at high revs as a limiter.... It has the rotax engine, and a new dellorto carb, the engine is supposed to have been rebuilt about 3 mths ago. Do scorpas of this era sound like this or should I be looking for a fault, perhaps advance or retard ignition timing.... I am also a little confused as the number on the frame last digit - x which if forums are to be believed is a 99 model, but 99s were not black and yellow, or were they? Please help.....

Im shopping for a scorpa sy250 and have noticed that scrapes on the tanks are common so I want to know if its possible to spray them? are they plastic? the rest of the bikes from what ive saw hold up pretty well as far as scrapes go, but the tanks looks a mess if they get knocked. Obviously scrapes happen, I just want to tidy them up. Also how easy or difficult are they to dismantle to paint the frame...on the pre 06 models the frames are silver or grey...i want to spray it black as they look great...idont really want to touch the engine so..maybe mask that off and spray around it.. Id take off the least amount of parts required to mnake a decent job of it.. cheers

Just wondering if anyone has reliable news on Scorp'as future. Is it going to survive or fail...there seems to be very little discusion and most of the "facts" are contradictory. The US importer really seems to be focusing on Sherco. Hate to see another brand go away.

Ive just stripped the carb from the bike - dellorto phbh30, from everything I've read this is the wrong one, but should it work, is it a direct replacement, and does anybody have any info on the set up for it.. Thanks.... Andy.

Hello again, after removal of the flywheel cover from my 96 scorpa easy I was greeted by a flywheel with ''hammer rash''. I was thinking of geting it turned down slightly to remove the dents, can this be done, will there be any negative side effects from the reduction in diameter.. Also, I was wondering, if I am getting it turned down, would there be any advantage in having the new outside diameter threaded ( very fine ) in such a way that any crap that gets in there would be forced to the cover end.....How would this affect centrifugal forces?. heard about the scorpa sy 250 being a really reliable bomb proof bike with not much in the way of problems, and if this was true then you would aspect a lot of people to be using them but there isny many compared to gasgas beta sherco and montesa :S are thay any good or should i go for one of the other makes ?

Hi all The front brake on my ’06 SY 250 is weak. The brake lever feels firm, there is no air in the system. I suspect the brake pads have been contaminated with fork oil since the left fork had a small leak when I got the bike. Yesterday I did take the brake pads out, cleaned them with solvent and then re-surfaced them using sandpaper. That did not help. Any tips what to do next? The brake pads had a ‘GG’ in the product number, is the front brake the same in Scorpa and GASGAS? Is there a known problem with the front brake of the SY250? If so, how can I fix it?
