can anyone post a picture of their footrest mounting brackets from , i think an 09 bike. It looks as though they bolt onto the alloy flat section and i am wondering if i can use them for a pre 65 project.

Hi again.....more problems.....! How do you remove the shock to swingarm bush, I haven't tried yet as I don't know how theyre held in. The only thing I've done is remove the bolt, and cleaned the area with wd40. It looks as though they're pressed in from each side. I've supported the rear wheel so as not to snap the brake cable ( as read on another post ) when it all comes loose. Cheers.

Whilst out on the bike today, after about 15 mins I noticed water leaking from the overflow. I stopped the bike, give it 5mins to cool down, and tried again......to the same again. The fan works on the temp switch and does work. When I got home, I got it warm again and the same happened again. Can somebody tell me the possible causes, I think its probably the head gasket, but I don't know for sure.......could it be something else ? Where do I start, should I drain the coolant off, and check the impellar and seal firstly. If it is the head gasket, should I replace the little ends, and rings at the same time..........what would you do ? Cheers, Andy…

Hi, Ive just bought an 03 sy 250 r and want to spend a day on it before changing the oil, and other things. My question is - Is the little bolt, about 40mm up from the bottom of the crank case the oil level indicator. What is the best gear oil. What is the best premix oil - I currently use " silkolene comp 2 plus sx " At what ratio, I heard 70 -1 ( is this 16ml per 1000 ) What fuel, Unleaded or high octane super unleaded. A;so, what plug. Sorry for all the questions, but I like to start off right, and then if things go wrong they only go a little bit wrong... All help gratefully recieved and accepted......any advice is good advice........as long as it isn't sh*t …

I noticed that my front rim has a few little cracks on the edge, and was wondering if it could be welded. Are they aluminium, or ?. Or do I leave it be...? I don't want to fork out for a new rim, and was cosidering painting them anyway, with Plastikote Black......or is there another type of paint thats ideal for this. I could get them powder coated without removing the spokes, they just bake them at a lower temp and the masking tape doesn't burn off. Also, my rear disc is a bit thin, and wondered where to get one from......so far my searches are fruitless. My rear brake isn't very good, but I don't know how good it should be, Theres plenty of oil in it and no air, co…

  16. Hi I have just bought a Scorpa TYS 125 F which has just been used by the previous owner for "pottering" about , I have stripped the lights off it to day and removed the speedo and bracket and steering lock etc to start riding trials. Has anyone else done this and did you remove the steering lock bracket which is welded to the steering head ? and where do you mount the choke lever if you re move the speedo bracket ? any advice or tips would be appreciated thanks Dave

Hi, again.......another conundrum........ I have removed the fuel tank to prep it for a re-spray, and found that the inside on the right ( sat on bike ) has been rubbing on the engine and now has an impression of the cylinder head and bolt head melted into it....luckily its not gone through. I purchased a fibre-glass repair kit a while ago, for repairing the mudguard,( by the way it worked brilliantly ) and was wondering if it can be used on the fuel tank to patch it up ( don't know if the resin will react with the plastic tank )....also thinking of putting a strip where the kickstart rattles against it, just to thicken it up a bit. Should there be spacers behind the t…

Hi all, does anyone know if the damping screw on the rear shock will come all the way out, and if so what what effect will this have, i.e. can I put it back in again.. I don't want to remove it, but have started tweaking the suspension a bit, and feel limited, as I don't want the screw to fall out. There's a place not too far from me in Leigh, that repairs/reconditions shocks and the like, haven't spoken to him yet as theres no need to, but if things get messed up I'm sure I can get it fixed, but do I need to know the specs of the shock, and if so where will I find them..... Thanks again, Andy. PS. To anybody getting fed up of answering my cries f…
