Does anyone know where to obtain a shop manual? I removed the rear wheel to repair a flat and couldn't find any specifications on the axle nut torque. I've downloaded the owners manual, the motor manual and the parts book. Is there any other documentation available on the WEB? TIA Rick Graves Indiana, USA

I am thinking about changing to an 11 tooth gearbox sprocket on my SY250. I never use first gear so thought I would change up to bring 1st back into play. Does anyone know from experience how the extra tooth affects the ratios? will 1st gear with an 11 tooth sprocket be the same as 2nd with the ten tooth or does it end up a bit lower than the original 2nd gear?

I just got my new Trials Comp. and see it says that RYP will be the new Scorpa Importer for the U.S.A.. This should really help Scorpa be a bigger player in the U.S.. Seems good news for all the Scorpa guys.

Can anyone recommend jetting for riding an sy250 at 6-7k and 10k feet elevation? There is also one of those screen type spark arrestors installed, so the exhaust does not flow as freely anymore. I have some upcoming rides at those elevations. Thanks in advance.

FYI and opinions on a new TY-S125F My new Long Ride came with a 105 main jet which may be fine. It did have a 15 pilot jet instead of the preferred 17.5. If you order new jets, order a new float bowl gasket also. The bowl and gasket can be stuck hard and it's difficult to save the old gasket. I had to tap a thin sharp object between the bowl and body to get it separated. The idle mixture screw is very difficult to get to. You have to move some cables out of the way to see it. From the right side you can get a very short/shortened driver in there, but one of those 90 degree geared drivers is best. Perhaps a driver bit for a small rachet handle would work. Mine came wit…

I noticed on Woody Holes test of the four stroke Scorpa in T&MX that he said he had it on good authority, i.e. Birkett told him, that the sy250 will have a "clear update" soon. Anyone heard any details and do you think they'll do anything radical to frame or engine, or just tinker with set up?

Hi, I have a Scorpa TYS 125 which I am really pleased with as my local club run the aircooled mono class. The bike has had the carb and tailpipe mod, I have also dropped the gearing by one tooth on f sprocket. As regards to the flywheel mod, is it worth it and where does the metal need removing from? Also has anybody done any thing else worth mentioning. Thanks....

my 98 Easy has a 10 front and 43 rear . . and it seem to be too talll, meaning it goes to fast in 1st gear at an idle for me . . .I'd like it to crawl a little slower . . I'd like to put a 9 on front but can't find a manufacturer for that size for the rotax engine . . so I'm thinking about a 50 on the rear . . . who has tried what and any suggestions I guess I want to go slower and dont mind losing any off the top Thanks

Why would Scorpa / Rotax use a carb with the choke knob located on the inside of the bike frame and practically untouchable?? I cant seem to see how are you suppose to get your fingers around the choke pull to lift it up . . has someone figured out some neat trick?? I'm thinking of making a little fork that will reach in over the muffler to lift the choke knob . . Suggestions please . .

I see former World Champion Marc Colomer has, as predicted by T & MX, joined Scorpa as a test and development rider.

Hello guys, I just bought a used Scorpa SY250 but the suspension (damping) is set a bit light for me. I started to try to adjust it but couldn't figure out which way to turn the adjusters or 'where to start' and how to keep the balance, for example in the front fork, of compression and rebound adjustments. Similar in the rear shock, there is a screw but can I turn it in (or out) completely to start counting? I can't feel clicks. So, without guidance I'm lost and the owner's manual I got, doesn't mention the suspension settings. Can somebody help me out? Which is the base setting, and how can I get to that if I don't know what the current setting is? Thanks in advan…

The oil filler cap on my SY250 is just a cap, not a dipstick. So how do I check the correct level of the transmission oil? The instruction manual pdf doesn't mention this. Anybody knows the trick?

hello everybody, I've got a little Scorpa 125 4T. Nice little bike but I have a problem: when I rapidly open the throttle the engine tends to stop... I got all the revs only if I open the throttle in more than 300/400 ms. I've done the rejetting (as described in this forum) bit without any effects, apparently. Any suggestions? Do I have, for example, to play with the air/fuel mix screw? Please, is there a 125 ownner that can test this: just open the throttle VERY rapidly, as you can do without problems on a 2T, what's happen? Thanks Mario

Hi y'all,me again with my 06 Scorpa which had it's carb woes and cuttin out etc... Well,That seems to have been a premix problem and since going back to 80:1 all has been whoop di do.Until recently.. Ok,here we go.... The bike fires up on second kick, turn the choke off real quick (else it will die) and get it on the throttle.Really boggy for about ten minutes or a good open throttle rev and then she's clean. What I notice is that at low revs or blipping I can hear the carb pullin air,you know like if there was no air filter in,an induction noise. Also the bike has got lousy throttle response. The stuff I used to ride in 2nd gear now requires 1st gear to get the instant…

Hi ScorpaGuys, Just bought a SY250 2004. Gorgeous. The clutch lever didn't quite reach to the bars when bought. After the first ride, it did. And then the clutch didn't work. What had happened is that the push rod inside the slave cylinder (behind the engine) has pushed out a little. The circlip was grating along (what looks like) a thread. Having called Nigel Birkett's (rather helpful) mechanics, then taken the subframe off, then the middle section of the exhaust, I was able to push it all back in. I had to bend the retaining circlip straight. I can now adjust it so that the clutch lever reaches the bar, but then the "bite" is in the wrong place. So I've put it…
