EM (Electric Motion)

  1. Started by ReginaRider,

Just picked up a demo model and would like install an hour meter. Does anyone have recommendations?

  2. Started by PNWer,

I just rode a 2022 (mine) and a 2023 EPure Race back-to-back. The shock on the 2023 seemed a little more active and lively. I'd love to upgrade, but I wanted to start by trying to adjust my shock. Has anyone else played with adjustments on the 2022? Any recommendations? (specifically to try to get closer to the Reiger feel)

  3. Missus' 2021 epure race. I fitted a new chain and set it up like every other bike I have ever done - one finger gap between the spring adjuster and the swinging arm. Now it has a squeak - like a dry brake squeak which seems to come from the output sprocket at the motor end. We have both ridden it for a while but it is still there. Brake is fine and has not been touched, not had the back wheel out. No play in wheel bearings or gearbox output shaft as far as I can detect. I have backed the tension off a bit and the noise has gone. Squeak was in time with wheel rotations so it is somewhere or somehow related to that. My guess is a wheel bearing, but there is …

Thought I'd share my experience of the EM5.7 I bought last autumn. First off a little background. I'm a long-time road bike rider who switched to dirt bikes a few years back because (a) exciting riding on roads is too d**m dangerous ( track days here in southern Germany were too time consuming and expensive © dirt biking I can do together with my kids (they're only young once). Before the EM my only exprience of trials was the odd borrowed ride in a gravel pit or w/e courses. My main ride is a 350 ktm sports enduro (mostly ridden on local motocross tracks) but my kids (also riding mx) started with an OSET and continue to love riding their electric trials bikes. Jea…

  6. Has anyone ridden the new '23 model back to back with a '22? There's some indication that the maps are significantly improved in terms of how fast the electric motor spins up and spins down. It seems like it may be slower, like they added some virtual rotational mass to the motor via the controller. This review (at minute 11:00) shows what appears to be a slower rev up and spin down of the electric motor, much like what I experience on my Gas Gas: I'm interested what the '23 is like relative to the '22, as I have struggled on my '22 Race with maintaining traction in loose conditions due the motor spinning up and down much more quickly as compared …

Where will I be able to get a new rear mudguard in the UK? Inch Perfect don't have any on their site but guess it has to be possible to buy one somewhere.

I've not yet opened the flywheel cover of my 2021 Race, even though I've had the bike for over 2 years. However, looking at the instructional videos on the EM website, it looks like the flywheel has 2 extra discs held by a ring of 6 screws. Am I right? Has anyone here tried removing the weights? As I don't use the clutch I'm thinking that I don't need the flywheel for winding up inertia before dumping the clutch. Instead I think I may get a little bit more snap for lifting over logs if the flywheel is lighter.

  9. Hey guys. My 2021 em escape r has stopped working. Ran it thru a pretty boring run up the mountain, came back down, everything was fine. The next day I go to start it and nothing. The battery engages, lanyard works, head display shows 98% and switching map to green light but their is zero power to the motor. Tried the reset cycle. Nothing. Even went as far as to replace the throttle control with a new domino throttle. Nothing. Has anyone dealt with this problem or does anyone know how the heck to fix this? Checked all connections, battery, fuse and everything's good.

  10. So who will be the first owner to lay out a couple of sections in the local club trial at which only they can ride, a nifty way of winning a trial I fancy. In fact if it's the last section you'd have not only cleaned it but you and the bike as well !

I raised this as one of my points on this other thread but it was too many questions at once, and most of it has fallen by the wayside now anyway. So I thought I would address this one question again. My aim is to achieve a little bit of engine braking with the throttle closed, similar to a petrol bike. The Mecatecno I tried had this. Having studied the information on konrad's website, I'm proposing to use the microswitch in the Domino throttle to feed about 1 volt into the PRB connector. I'll use the PRB/FRB Y-piece to actually make the connection at that end, meaning of course that the FRB won't work, but that doesn't matter. To get the 1 volt, I'm hoping to …

Here are some footpegs that i cobbled together. They are crude and heavy but allow me to try different peg placement, they are about 1/2 inch (12-13mm) forward and lowered the same amount. I also did away with the forward slant of the stock pegs. They are much more conducive to sitting on the seat and transitioning between sitting and standing, they affect ground clearance very little. They are a big improvement for me, I hope to have a nicer set made, I'm happy with the forward position but I'd like them another 5-8mm lower.

I have been reading through this forum as I think about getting a second dirt bike for myself to complement my KTM 200 2 stroke woods bike. I am hoping to get some feedback on what bikes I should consider from people with experience. I am a life long mountain bike rider that got into dirt bikes later in life when I was 30 (43 now). I love riding dirt bikes in the woods, have raced enduros and hare scrambles, and ride every chance I get. The difficult part is land access and distance to drive...and kids. I can ride out of my garage and hit a mountain bike trail, to ride dirt bikes I have to drive 1 hour when I get an invite to private property, so it's never up to…

Just bought a 2024 Sport model and really enjoying it. Certainly a big adjustment from my Sherco 250. This was my very first try right out of the crate last week... I was fooling around with the clutch and winding it up for no reason. This was this week (snow is gone) - a lot quieter you can hear the sound of the X11s on the driveway

I ride classic trials in AHRMA and mountain bike. I live on acreage and I have been building a lot of technical trials section and mountain bike trails. I have a TL125 and a Sherpa T. I find that the motorcycles don't handle the tight downhill trails as well as my mountain bike. The feel too big. I am looking for an electric trials bike that can ride my trails. Do any of you with experience think that the Oset 24 might be a better fit than an EM? I have seen video of it ridden by adults and it looks about the same size as a mountain bike. I thought it would be easier to move around and lift in tight sections.

Anyone know of any insurance companies that'll cover the Electric Motion 5.7 for theft? Just tried Carol Nash and they won't cover anything without an engine! It won't be road registered.

I've just bought a 24 Escape X, I plan to ride it a bit as delivered to get the feel of things before I try EM Connect, I'm very much an old dog that needs to learn some new tricks. I'm a bit intimidated by modern electronics, I mostly just use my phone as a phone. The manual seems to explain things pretty well but I'm skeptical that it will really be that simple. Can anyone give me any tips that will make my first experience with EM Connect easier? On another note, I plan to install a left hand lever for the rear brake and remove the foot brake due to my own disability. Research has led me towards using a 9mm Brembo clutch master cylinder for the rear brake althoug…

My missus is struggling to find an insurer that will cover her factor-e. The bike does not sem to appear on any of the main insurer's databases. I tried to add it to my (Aviva) multibike but they do not list it. We found a specialist trials company that offered theft but it was twice the price of my multibike (Suzuki GSX and Honda CRF) or the wife's Ducati Monster insurance. i just wondered if anyone has found a regular company that will cope with this model? The "specialist" for electric (motor) bikes I found cover the escape but not the factor-e so could not get a quote from them either. Only looking for theft cover.

  20. For those interested, I have built a website devoted to Electric Motion trials bikes. I intend it as a give-back for all the things I've learned via the internet over the years. There is no advertising or commercial content. https://www.electricmotiontech.com/home Edit: Forgot to mention there's a very effective search tool built into the website - just use the magnifying glass at the upper right-hand corner.
