I need to replace the rear fender on my bike. It broke and the previous owner did a serviceable but hard to look at job of riveting it together. I've kept an eye on Ebay but was wondering what vendor options I might have.

Hello all. The electrical portion on the throttle/kill assymbly on my restoration TY is finally beyond repair. The post and contact slider are disconnected. Anyone have the innards they want to get rid of so I can reinstall them in my housing or know of a source for these parts or a place to have it rebuilt? I could always put an after market kill switch but I love the classic look of this bike. I found a source on e bay that sells the black thumb switches so I feel I can manage this off. Thanks!

It's been awhile since I've been to this forum, but I'm looking for some parts for my recently aquired 1974 TY250. The bike is in really good shape and I don't want to damage a very good gas tank. Does anybody make a decent replacement tank? (plastic would do). Also, the bike came with a extended & thicker seat. I'm looking for a solo replacement seat. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello I have a TY175 and I need some more info on the front and rear mudguards: FRONT The front guard was a after market one which was broken but held in place by the usual chrome up and over twin looped support, the bike came with a good used Yamaha mudguard which attaches to the 4 bolts on the fork legs, should I use the the chrome support and the good used mudguard combined or not bother with the chrome support, im not sure which was fitted from the factory or whether I have some TY250 bits mixed into the bike? It's not the most original of bikes... REAR The rear guard was also broken so I have a OK used one to put on, its the genuine Yamaha type, under it was a…

Hi everyone, I just finally got my son a ty80 that was partially restored. The bike is leaking fuel from the carby, I hope that it's just the float being stuck, does anyone know if this is a common problem? Also, both clutch and brake levers seem a bit too big and hard to pull, does anyone here knows of a suitable replacement with an adjustable screw so that would bring the whole lever closer to the bars? I'm not really after shorter levers as they still need to be long to be pulled confortably. Do you know where I could get a side stand? The chain seems VERY loose, I either need to take some links off, or put a bigger sprocket, and I'd probably …

Anyone out there have a few rear wheel spokes or know where I can get some. I'm not going to respoke the whole wheels so hoping I can just get a few. Thanks

I am finally getting to the front forks and am needing some information on what's available out there. Is there a source for new springs for the 175 Forks, I am guessing after 41 years that the old ones are probably pretty well used up. Also the manual says to use 10W30 motor oil in the forks? Is it better to use the modern fork oils in 10W. I weigh about 180 Lbs and ride Novice class.

I've recently bought a nice 1976 TY175 with a view to doing the odd twinshock trial. It's very clean and original but has a nick in one of the graphics on the tank and the heat shield is a bit off colour. I've ordered new graphics and a local paint shop will do the respray and lacquer etc. Two quick q's. 1. Does £200 sound about right for this job? Back in 1980 I did my own respray and lacquer with cans but I need a better finish than my lack of talent will deliver. 2. Does anyone know the colour code (it is a white model)? Cheers.

New to this forum.... and need some help please?!! Bought a Ty175 a few months ago that has stood for 15 years un-used. Rebuilt the carb, fresh fuel and new plug and she fired up first kick!! Well chuffed! Had a problem with dirt in the fuel, so have Pet-Sealed the tank and now have very clean fuel. Bike still starts great, but when I select first gear and pull away, she starts to die?? If I slip the clutch and keep the revs up, she will keep going and she will eventually burst into life?!! That's OK, but have tried her off road, and it is very hard to control like this?? Any ideas???? It is almost as if the carb is over fuelling, but have checked jets, needle se…

Any answers/ suggestions are appreciated. I'm knee deep in a 1977 TY-250 build and I'm wondering ... Has anyone decided to remove the factory head and tail/stop light? The bike will never be road legal and I don't plan on taking it out at night so I'm thinking I remove the lighting coil from behind the flywheel and delete the other bulbs and harness. Any thoughts or tips?

Ive got hold of an original front and rear light set for my 1985 TY250. The lighitng coil is present, but in terms of power, I only have 1 powered wire (6v). What do I need to to do connect the lights up? Any help is muchly appreciated. Also I took the bottom bolt out of the front sprocket chain guard and oil began to drip out. Any ideas? Cheers

I'm thinking about trying out some of the Magicals front fork springs on my TY175 as the old ones feel a little tired. Has anyone fitted them and noticed a change that would justify me buying some. Cheers for any replies.
