Hi, Searching for a work shop in the UK who offers the same knowlegde and machining as B&J Racing US. Need to optimise my squish band and port the cylinder. Im even interested of data for correct squish and head cc, so I can send it to a work shop closer to home. About porting, guess only encreasing width gives benefits. hi all i have just replaced the fork seals and have a prob. the fork has a long spring (20in) and a short spring (25mm / 1.5in) in length and i cannot remember where the short spring goes. does the damper rod go through the spring before if is secured by the allen screw going through bottom of fork slider? i seem to remember it falling out of the chrome fork leg when i turned it upside down to drain the remain oil. many thanks in advance andyh

I have a '91 TY-250 that I am rebuilding. I have managed to separate all the moving parts on the rear suspension setup apart from one pivot. The deal is this: It is a link with a grease nipple on one end and a nut on the other. It has well and truly stuck its self in and no matter what I try I cannot free it. Please help!

How goes my like minded distant friends? well since i last posted anything i have bought myself a couple of new bikes. still ty`s but now i am the pround owner of a ty 250 pinky and a ty 80 small wheeled for my son. However there is a problem. the pinkey has the loudest clattering engine i`ve ever heard. i still have alot of power, alot more than the 175 i`ve been riding, it certainly does put a smile on my face even now as i write this post! So anyway back to the point. does the clattering engine mean that i should need to replace the piston and rings and then rebore? And if so where would i send it and how much might it cost? i look forward to your respected vie…

Ay up folks, just rebuilt my 92 Yam mono engine with new mains, big end, con-rod, gudgeon pin, crank seals etc. Also put a s/h 270 barrel and head (higher compression looking at the facing) with shortened inlet tract on it. Rode it yesterday, powerful but pinks like hell and from idle it doesnt rev cleanly, only a little bit but its not smooth. Any ideas? Eiger

I have just been reading an item in a book called The world of motorcycles about Mick Andrews, printed in 1977. A bit of history etc about his trials riding up to that date. At the end it says he is helping to develope a 4 stroke trials bike with Yamaha which will be popular in a few years. Anybody shed any light on this? Thanks.

Just picked up a TY80 for my nephew to ride. Bike had been sitting but is mostly all there and after a quick carb cleaning it started right up. I am curious about the oil pump. Do most people run the oil pump, or is it removed and the bike run on premix? I know on my old DS7 and RDs we'd drop the pump for track use. Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

sorry chaps but i want to try and save the original footrest mounts is there any oversized footpegs ie HEBO that will fit straight on to the above! without cutting/grinding/or welding anything? also orderd a alloy miller tailpipe for my yamaha framed 250 this had to have an 1"1/2 cut of the end and a 4" alloy bracket made up to bolt it on? but sounds and looks great! tried the 10/41 final gearing and its spot on the bike picks up and feels right now! ill proberly go for 11/45 just to save less stress on the front sprocket or wouldn't this make a lot of difference? also has anyone tried the uprated fork springs that b+j racing (usa) sell? cheers Nick.

Hi I have just bought a WES system for my majesty 250, and i am looking for a chrome front pipe to complete the job. Any one here know who sells these? I was told the miller ones fit but surley they would be for a standard yam twinshock, whereas i got a MK2 godden framed bike.. Any help appreciated

Hi, I am in the process of buying an unregistered, unknown year, ratty looking pinky. The following is a list of issues, but I'm mostly interested in the cost and availability of parts. Money hasn't changed hands yet, so I've got time to run away if the "computah says noooh"!! and it looks like a case of good money after bad. What advice can you give me? Rear suspension linkage bushes and shock mounts all have play, it clunks like a shunting engine. Can I get a bush kit? how much? Rear suspension weak and floppy - oooer missus! can the shock be re gassed and serviced? Grips and levers ruined. - universal? front fork seals gone, zero oil in forks! are seals costly?…
