Hi Guys Could anyone out there put some detailed pictures of a mono s model back end on here. what it is, my bike has no mounting for a chainguard, they have been ground off. I have sourced a chainguard (DK motorcycles are breaking one) but i just need some details as to where to weld on some mounts. Any help would be much appreciated

I am freshening up the top end on a 84 TY250 mono. After looking closely at the new rings, Yamaha # 38v-11610-00-00 I noticed that one ring has grooves or ridges running around the sealing face of the ring. I needed a magnifying glass to see them. Would this be the lower "oil ring" possibly? Other than that they appear identical.

Hi all, I got a TY and have been loving it. At our Trial last weekend it started bogging off idle. I cleaned the carb tonight and when I checked the idle screw it was only a half a turn out. I always think 1 and a half turns is closer to what I use as a standard starting point. I am going to be competing this weekend and just trying to get some input for when I try to tune it up at 8000 feet. Opening that screw is leaning it out and would be the right direction for higher altitudes,Right. Raising the clip one notch will also drop the needle and help also, correct. just need some reassurance as I need a good running bike to compete with these guys that have 7000 dollars in…

My TY175 has a 250 piston (192cc) with a Boyesen reed and straight inlet to big K & N filter, and WES exhaust. Anyone have any ideas on jetting and ignition timing.Did the 200 Majesty have rejetted standard Mikuni? Thankyou

Hello all, I have a 1977 Ty175 with a broken clutch basket P/N 525-16150-00-00 it has one of the fingers broken off, and also play between the primary gear and the basket These seem hard to find, so does anyone have one that they would like to sell? Thanks

I have a 1976 TY175 with clutch and shifting problems. It shifts very hard: I cleaned and greased the shifter mechanism under the countershaft sprocket but it is still not the usual smooth shifting normally expected from a Yamaha. It has a hard "click" to shift. The shaft that the clutch is mounted has considerable endplay. When you push/pull on the shaft there is about .030" movement. The clutch does not have a consistent engagement/disengagement. How much endplay should I expect from a transmission shaft and could this be the problem with the stiff shifting? Hi there. My TY175's kick starter has begun to feel a little looser then before. Most worrisome is the fact that it seems to not "catch" or engage until very low on its throw. Unlike my TY250 which seems ready to catch and propel right away. Seems like the 175 only grabs and propels about the last 3 inches or so of its travel. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi all, I'm currently rebuilding my Yam which has now had the inlet manifold shortened,flywheel lightened and been ported. So, does anyone have the jet sizes that will get the best out of these mods. I have the standard sizes but also have variations on every jet so can re-jet no problem. Anybody with a Mick Andrews or a Birkett tuned motor will have had their carb done, I'd be well chuffed if they could share this info with me. Any help most appreciated, Cheers
