Hi all, I hope the link to my flickr page works and maybe someone can have a look and confirm if these are Betor forks. the only writing of any sort is cast into the handlebar clamps but they bolt on so this could be misleading. Thanks. And if they are Betor that makes them Spanish? Could they then be pre65? They are for my Mark one Sprite which I understand could possibly be built in 1964 but more likely pre 1968. They need rechroming if anyone knows a good specialist in Surrey or London? www.flickr.com/photos/33646233@N04/4448683344/in/pool-1391096@N22 Visit My flickr group I have started a picture album with Sprite pictures. Maybe some of you could add some…

Hello all I now own a sprite trials bike and looking for more info on the bike. I think it is one of the earlier models but im unsure. The bike seems to be in very original condition even with the original fuel tank i think. Any info would be great.

Question. I've had a question from a guy who has a Sprite trials bike in basically standard condition with an iron barreled Villiers 32A motor. He wanted to know if the Sprite was eligable for Pre65 events. Now i thought that Sprites were made from 65 onwards so they are most definately NOT eligable for Pre65 events. Not a problem to ride in our events as we dont have a Pre65 class any longer as i felt it was too much of a minefield so the class has been changed to British Bike but he was concerned taht his bike is or is not eligable for Pre65. Roy Bacons book seems to infer that as i said they are not eligable but canb anybody here give me a categorical answer?

Hi, can anyone tell me where I can find any info/pictures etc on Sprite Motorcycles? If anyone's got any literature, advertising stuff I could buy copies of or anything for sale I'd be interested. Cheers, Glenn.

Firstly - Hello to you all I am picking up a Sprite trials bike this weekend fitted with a Sachs 125 engine, accompanying it is a spare Sachs engine & chromoly frame. The bike has been sat festering in my dads shed for the best part of 15 years, prior to this it was owned by my great uncle. I stripped to restore it approx 8 years ago, the restoration was halted by a move & I recently stumbled upon this thread which has rejuvenated my interest. My dad has now agreed to let me have the bike as he has no time in which to restore it but I have noticed very limited information available on the internet, I have trawled all the information available online but was won…

I am going to need a new rear sprocket for my Pre-65 Trials bike soon. It's a BSA B40 with Triumph Cub wheels, using 428 chain. I am currently running a 76 tooth sprocket, and had once purchased a replacement rear from PMP sprockets in Wylie TX. I was very pleased with. Sadly, they are no longer in business, and from all I can tell, the business was bought & operated under Superior Sprockets name. When I follow down that rabbit hole, their website is "Temporarily Closed". Does anyone have any experienc with other custom sprocket makers who might still be in business? I'm going to be in need very soon! Thanks

I've got a question about sprockets. Now i've always believed that ideally you should have an odd number and an even number i.e. 11 tooth gearbox and 42 back wheel to ensure wear was more even on both sprockets. However the std combination is 11 gearbox 41 rear wheel. Wouldn't this wear the sprocket unevenly. Alternatively have i had it wrong all these years or doesn't it matter any more ?

Dumb questions of the day coming up: What's the benefit of the square head/barrel combination on Villiers motors, I come up with weight and better cooling, but is there anything else ? Seems every Villiers bike tested in magazines has a different head/barrel combination so there's many different types: Parkinson, Alpha etc. So what works best for trials motors and why ? I remember that the 210 Karting lads used the round combo, not sure if they were alloy replicas. If anyone needed better cooling I thought it would be them. But looking at the various James bikes tested in: Trialsworld, Classic Dirtbike and YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON T…

Hello Rainy Sunday here in Switzerland, so I put some clips on: http://www.twnclub.ch/scottish_files/Pre65/2003_Pre65.htm I was taking on Saturday afternoon videos with my Sony Camera, but had only time after 3 years to convert them to smaller size (it's still 1-2MB). (needs highspeed ADSL to view or download) Are there more pics / clips on other sites ? Hope you are enjoying them... And good luck for coming event ! Patrick
