Hi everyone, I live in North Yorkshire between york and Scarborough. A mate of mine has got a Mission trial bike, but are there any trials for him to ride round here? Do Scarborough DMC still do bike trials at Low North? Are they any good?

Well done to Sam Oliver , managed to pick up sponsorship from MRS, the UK importer for Monty. No doubt this will be a great help as he (and the Oliver crew) make an attack at the World Rounds. I'm not one for blowing people's trumpet when they start to get a bit good, but I've never seen anything like it. It gives you a tingle down your neck. I've always thought that if you really want to excel at something, you have to go absolutely over the top - training training training. Sam is doing exactly that. Watch this space.

I used to ride on a 20'' Monty a few years ago now when I was younger (admittedly not very well), but sold it when I stopped using it as much as i'd like too. I am seriously thinking of getting into Trials again but was unsure about which size bike to go for. I would prefer a 20'' wheel bikes but i'm 25 years old now and 6' 3''. Will a 20'' bike be ok for someone my size or should I go for a 26''? Cheers for any help.

Hi folks, just thinking of having a go at this as a way of getting a bit fitter - haven't really ridden since I was a kid - about 30 years ago! Just wondering about the pro's and con's of 20 " wheels against 26" wheels, so any helpful info would be.........well........helpful! I have no dreams of being able to do anything impressive but would like to be able to do some rock hoppin stuff etc etc. Cheers. PS I'm 6.0ft and about 11 stone in old money!

  14. Started by sam,

Just walked in from riding with a Unicyclist, WOW! I just can not believe the stuff this kid can ride, like jumping from the center of a log pile out and over with a 4' drop. If you have not ridden with a uni rider you be amazed of the stuff they attempt and make! I just can not believe it. Well, now I'm headed out to dig a grave for my motorcycle, it's over! I've been riding this huge log pile for months, trying to get the final clean, then this youngster shows up and on the first try gets a clean. It changes a mans mind rapidly, my wife keeps telling me to take up gardening, maybe its time! sam I'am with chickens that lay green eggs!

Hi, I've just bought my lad a used Saracen 2 zero MAD (if that makes a difference??). It needs new tyres and thought I'd ask for some advice. Which should I buy (He's only 9 so I guess the cheapest? but is that wise?) What should I expect to pay ? Any advice on where to buy them (we're between Leeds and Bradford, West Yorks) ? The current tyres say 20 inch but someone told me we need 19inch on the rear. Looking on the internet there seems to be both. I presume we need 20inch. True ? The widths seem odd, the bike has 2.125 on the front and 2.25 on the rear. Are these standard sizes ? If I can't/don't match these widths, what do recommend I go for and would I ne…

Hi, Please take a look Sam Oliver (Spring 2010) Cheer's Sam.

  20. Started by bikespace,

I've put a similar post up to this a while ago, and this is the next installment I suppose. Some of you may remember Sam Oliver. Used to ride around the Cheshire area, in fact Cheshire Champion in the C Class I think, and was riding the Inter route as a C Class rider. Bit of a strange thing happened about the time he fractured his skull doing a nice little front flip from a pile of pallets on his little Monty. Strangely, after he got out of hospital and recovered, it seemed to fuel his addiction to the bike trials, and he's just about been training non stop since. Earlier in the year he had a trip to the first round of the British Championships, and he did pretty well..…
