The entry list is out for the Union Jack Classic trial run by the Stratford-Upon-Avon Club on Sunday. Scottish Classic winner Neil Gaunt is a hot favourite but he will have stiff opposition from a field of very experienced competitors including, Mick Ash, Jon Bliss, Peter Salt, Steve Clarke, Nic Draper, Martyn Goodall and a numer of others. Also look out for some good trail bike riders who might just take the win, Honda mounted Keith Wells and Dave Eeles always go well in this event. The route takes in some excellent trials riding terrain and covers 35 miles and 35 sections. A bumper entry of 102 riders will start two per minute at 9.30 from Downs farm near Bourton-on…

  9. What a difference a month makes ? Last months trial it was touch and go if we could run or not due to snow and after a lot of shovelling the trial went ahead. This month we were blessed with almost perfect conditions with bright sunshine and dry grippy rocks the order of the day. A good turn out of 50 odd riders were treated to 4 laps of 10 sections comprising of rocks, sandy climbs and the odd stream section thrown in for good measure. All that this very popular venue is renowned for. Best ride of the day must go to Ian Margetts who piloted his Fantic to record a superb faultless performance on the Expert route to easily win the category. Truly a masterclass performanc…

  16. The Peak Classic Trials Club held round 1 of their Club Championship at Dudwood Farm near Elton Derbyshire last Sunday 28th February expecting a downpour but amazingly the threatened rain never materialised and even the sun shone for a while. No amount of winter sunshine could have dried out the waterlogged ground though and the course between sections was almost worse than the challenges set by the course plotter Paul Beswick. Fourty eight riders turned up to ride 4 laps of 10 sections and most agreed that they enjoyed the course so everything was worthwhile. The riders enjoying it the most were Pete Carson out on his James for a change taking the win in the expert brit…
