This years event has been shortened to 60 miles and will include a number of sections with a hard route for the championship riders and those entered on trials bikes. Pete

  10. The Peak Classic Trials Club held round 2 of their club championship at Bracken Rocks near Holloway, Matlock, Derbyshire last Sunday 20 March and what a difference to the muddy wastes of the previous round at Dudwood Farm. Bracken Rocks was in perfect condition having dried out over the past few days to leave the 41 riders a 4 lap course of 11 sections mostly comprising of grippy rocks and tree roots at this ever popular venue. A lot of the familiar faces were missing as the event clashed with the Bemrose and Red Rose Trials however the regulars that did make it had an enjoyable if challenging day with no one having a clean sheet. The nearest to zero marks lost was everg…

  11. With England of late having a bit of a monsoon season it was touch and go whether last Sundays trial would go ahead or not but the Clerk of the Course at Peak Classic Trials Club was determined to follow the old adage “the show must go on” and managed to lay out a course of 10 sections to be ridden 4 times finding the dryer patches in the woods at Carsons farm and it was most heartening to hear all the congratulations from the riders at the end of their days sport. Peter Carson on home turf rode up a class this weekend riding his rigid BSA Bantam to victory in the Expert British Bike class with a stunning ride to lose just 2 marks which was by far and away the best ride …

  12. Unfortunately I have had to cancel the trial scheduled for this Sunday at Clifton as I have just spent over an hour and a half to get my van back up the access road which is like a skating rink with the road covered in ice and snow. This single track road will NOT be gritted by the council so will only get worse so that is why the trial has had to be cancelled. I really hate having to do this but it is beyond my control. I know you may look out your window and think it's not that bad and to be honest the main roads are clear but the single track road down to the venue is treacherous. The stream which is supposed to run under the road is blocked and is now running across t…

  13. The headline in one of the National papers read “wettest winter EVER ! “. Well I wouldn’t for once question that statement and the going at the Peak Classic trials Clubs opening round of their 2014 Club Championship season was decidedly on the waterlogged side. Clerk of the Course Paul Beswick did his best to try to avoid the worst of the gooey mud but to totally avoid it was an impossibility and the car park resembled the Somme. Not all the sections were so badly affected though with the main culprits being sections 1 & 2 which were very tricky after the first lap and took marks off everybody which resulted in nobody having a clean round let alone a clean bike at the…

  14. Peak Classic are holding round 4 of their 2017 Club Championship this weekend Sunday 23rd April at Dudwood Farm, Elton, Derbyshire. DE4 2LZ Start time 11.00am entries close 15 mins prior to the start. Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman routes Classes for British Bikes, Twinshocks, Pre95 air cooled monos and over 50's on moderns. Do you ride any of the above? Are you fed up of riding at clubs that just put on a "classic" class but dont make any concessions for the bike you ride expecting you to ride the same sections as the moderns and wunderkids ? Fed up of then using you as a cash cow to make up for falling entries…

  16. Entries are now closed for the Stratford Upon Avon round of the Midland Centre Championships at Shennington on Sunday. The 63 rider entry is headed by Beta rider S.Saunders. With three routes available, there should be something for everyone but don't expect an easy ride around, the Clerk of the Course is Alan Wright! Late entries are more than welcome on any route, up to the 100 rider limit.
