South Birmingham MCC are hosting the next round of the Sammy Miller series on the Clee Hill on 23 October. This location offers a good variety of sections including Groups such as Bedlam and Park Lane, natural rocky streams that were used when the Greensmith ran as a full British Championship trial back in the twinshock days (although the Miller round isn't as hard as the trial was back then...) A central location means travel from most parts of the country is reasonable. There are the usual 2 routes with roadwork linking up the groups, for what will be an excellent days sport for twinshock and pre65 competitors, solo and sidecar. The Miller series offers a reasonably…

This Sunday 26th February sees the ever popular venue of Dudwood Farm, Elton, Derbyshire hold round 1 which will take in the testing stream sections and rocky woods that this venue is so famous for. The presentation of last years awards takes place after the event at the Miners Standard Pub nearby so a great day out in the fabulous Derbyshire Peak District is assured. Middlesbrough & DMCs 2 day clubman trial this weekend has been cancelled. Although the sections & parking are excellent & ready to go, the country park area that riders must cross is heavily water logged, meaning with bikes going back & forth the potential of permenant damage was likely in this very public area. As a result the club has taken the responsible decision to cancel & thus eliminate any danger of either damge to the land or in the relationship with the new landowner. The Club has another trial planned for Sat 19th (2 weeks time) at the same venue, which hopefully weather permitting will run. Appologies to those who were planning on riding…

We would like to thank the great turnout of riders who attended and supported the club it made all the work laying out and behind the scenes worthwhile. Another person I would like to mention and thank is Jim Wickstead whose firm S & J Autos of Ilkeston, which is jointly owned and run by Jim and Sean who both ride at our events, helped the club immensely by agreeing to sponsor the event which left us totally gobsmacked but extremely grateful. Jim who was observing on section 3 wasn’t riding this time as he recently had a very bad accident almost severing his finger with a circular saw. Thankfully the hospital was able to reattach the finger and Jim is recovering well …

Thanks to everyone involved today and observers, great trial and good sections throughout, only a couple of Geoff Capes ones but all ridable. Held at Saintbury Quarry which runs a group for the Colmore National as well, nice and grippy for a change and met Pete aka Scorpa3 on here, hes running a trial there on the 29th this month (Stratford on Avon MCC) Pretty sure Steve Workman won it on the Honda and may have only dropped one or two all day and I dont think I worried him in the slightest. Little surprised to see how quickly most of the clubman completed the trial, I had done the first lap and many had finished all four? did nt think I was too slow and finished in plen…
