As most fans of the SSDT will already be aware, Edinburgh & District Motor Club are releasing two special editions to commemmorate one hundred years of the Scottish Six Days Trial. The first is the long-awaited and much anticipated Six Days In May - MTBcut's take on the SSDT Centenary. We're expecting that to be ready for distribution around the end of this month and the launch will be announced on the SSDT website as soon as it is available. Looking at last years in the program and still trying to sus em at the mo, but a good topic to talk about. [story, TC front page] The routes for the 2007 SSDT are coming together nicely, with some changes planned from the last few years, but the great news is that it looks fairly certain that Lagnaha will be back. Lagnaha is a series of great spectator sections - although many riders cringe at the thought of a fistfull of fives, they all secretly relish the challenge of beating those classic sections under the watchful eyes of hundreds of spectators! Has anyone heard when the SSDT day routes are to be released??

As the mother of all trials is fast approaching I am thinking about the last few bits and bobs, which of the above is best? The rucksack I can see being a bit of a faf having to put it on and take it off, but all your kit will be in one place and you will be able to carry more (gloves waterproofs etc) the bum bag may not be as big and energy draining but limited on space, nothing at all!!!! dont think I want to take that risk. whats the opinions of the TC population???

Im taking my wife up to Ft William to watch some of this years event. However, shes a bit unsteady (has MS) so ideally need to know if she will be allowed to take a fold up chair to sit and watch? Anyone know if this will be ok? Cheers all.

Be advised the main A82 trunk road will be closed at 10pm tonight between Tarbet & Ardlui (Loch Lomond). The road will not reopen until 0600 on Saturday morning. The main diversion route is via Inveraray on the A83 trunk road. There will be no closure on Saturday or Sunday night, but from Monday until Friday next week the road will be closed at 2200 and will reopen at 0600 the following day between Tarbet & Ardlui (Loch Lomond). I apologise if this is a repeat, buttt.... what are the chances of a twinshock Scottish in the future? I appreciate that the relevant committees are worked to death and all that but I reckon it would be a winner. Same sort of format as the pre-65, 2 days. Bit of a knock-around for the twinshock lads and lasses.

Does anyone know what happened to Howard Jackman who rode a 240 Armstrong in the 1984 SSDT? He may have been a works rider.

With the memory of narrowly missing out on winning last year's Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) still raw in his mind, James Dabill (Beta) is eager to exact revenge on 2012 winner Dougie Lampkin and his other rivals as he heads out on the first day of this year's event. Just a few of my collection When they started using the front number board the club used to collect these at the end on the finishers ramp, I suppose the intention was to maybe use them the following year, but that never happened. Better than the ''Home Made'' Yellow and Black ones that had to be located front and both sides at the rear, as previously mentioned they were the major part of your bike preperation and get it all wrong in a section and the side ones used to cut through your ''Ellgren's'' like a carving knife. It was with great regret that the decision had to be taken to cancel the second day of the Pre'65 Scottish due to the severe weather conditions experienced in the Kinlochleven area. It had proved impossible to lay out a route with rideable sections for the second day due to the amount of water on the course. The volume of rain that fell continually on Thursday and Friday resulted in the majority of sections being raging torrents, with feet instead of the normal inches of water in them!

Been going to the SSDT a few years now and still don't know the guy who interviews on the finish ramp or in charge of the Mic at the presentation............................ Now I may upset his family, but he needs to retire and talk about a subject and and maybe people he knows because it seems he knows Jack S**t about trials or the people who take part!!! So one of the highlights of the week was at the presentation when Dougie had enough of him took the microphone out of his hand and did his speech.............hell of a result
