My mate Stan Bakgaard left it a bit late to book a room, anyone blobbing for any reason who have a room booked or know of any availability within walking distance of the PF he would be most greatfull. He will be arriving Fort bill thur afternoon, and staying through Sat night.

If you are a TC regular and are riding this years SSDT or you want to see a TC regular on film this year I need to know names and rider numbers. I know some folks by name and have met a few at previous events but I don't know you all by real names. If you let me have your number I'll try and make sure you make the 2009 video. Cheers John

Every year some of us get together during SSDT week at a very good curry house on the High Street in Ft. Will for some good nosh and a bit of banter. That will be repeated this year and any TC reader is more than welcome, regardless of whether you're a rider, observer or a just a spectator in town for the event. Looks like the usual mix of fun and nonsense but it's nice to see things mixed around a wee bit. That new bit on Wednesday could be fun and I can't remember the last time there was no Callert or Blackwater in the trial, then again leaves the ground for another year...looks like fun Meant to say as well, looks like a bit less road miles as well, Wednesday 20 road miles out of 77, Thursday maybe 30 out of the 108 are off road and on Saturday almost all off road maybe bar about 6 miles...fantastic.

Just a quick reminder that every entrant must have insurance that covers them under the Road Traffic Act in order to start the 2009 SSDT. At the rate you lot are going, there won't be any.... Entries closed last Friday, and as of today there are still THIRTY FOUR riders who haven't paid for their places. There are nine unidentified payments in our bank account (listed in a separate topic from last week) so that leaves twenty-five people who haven't paid, but haven't got in touch with us either to let us know their situation. This is just a quick note to those of you who have already paid your entry fee, and a warning to those of you who have still to do so! If you choose to pay either cash or a cheque over the counter, the bank may not pass on any reference that you give them - we are receiving these payments in our account and the only reference quoted is the sort code of the bank that you've made the payment at, meaning that we have no means of matching your payment to your entry. Oh no !! Very sad news. Ally Finlay a ex-secretary of SSDT trials died last Monday. He was a good secretary some years ago, before Mairi and Big John Moffat. I'm proud to have known you Mr.Ally ! Rest in pace Ally and my condolences to Blair and Margaret Finlay.

so we've all being happy enough late in the event when you here those noises you've being dreading all week and your bike grinds to a halt. so who's got the best story's of how they've made a knackered bike get round. who's in the shameful/unlucky position of going out after an hour or two on monday. i've a number of lucky tales,must have had the god's on my side. and what's the best bike you've ever ridden round on? me on my first year on an early mont 315r ,it sounded rather strange ,would not rev and then stopped just past tramway on saturday maybe 15 miles from the finnish,stangely it was out of fuel and this was just past the fuel stop.after a long push i obta…

i had something similar to this all plumbed in on a t peice, the first year at the ssdt i used this on a montesa and after a couple of day i was refused the extra fuel ,the year later i failed scruteenering with the auxillary tank fitted.have the rules changed?

Are competitors in the SSDT allowed to use more than one bike now?
