Due to a cock up (It's not your year is it Dennis?) a friend will need a lift back to Glasgow to be at the Airport before 9.00am on Sunday the 13th. Alternatively is anyone able to give him a lift South after the presentation on Saturday night? Please leave a message on here or PM me prior to this Saturday, alternatively get in touch with Highland Lassie or Andy during SSDT week.

I've had contact from Guy Smeeth, the lone Canadian entry in this year's SSDT who has a little bit of a logistics problem. His flight gets into Glasgow airport around 1pm on Sat 6th May. The next bus won't get him into Fort William until it's too late to do any work on his new, untested bike. I've checked train times and that's the same. Is there anybody passing through Glasgow around 1:30pm on the Saturday heading for the SSDT who could help him out with a lift? If so, please PM me or email me trialscentral AT trialscentral.com

It's hard to believe that in less than a fortnight thousands of us will converge on Fort William for the 2007 Scottish Six Days Trial...it really is that time of year already! Before you pack your bags and take to the road, here's a few snippets and reminders from the organising committee : The Cavalcade To give the annual Sunday parade a little more pizzazz and spectator involvement, CJB Photographic are getting involved to make things a little different this year. When riders collect their machines in the Parc Ferme they'll be asked to form up in groups representing their nationality, then each group will be led in the parade by a nominated competitor from their count…

Some advice for this years event..................... Your rucksack can never hold everything you want, but they CAN hold everything you need. Wear Heavy Boots. You can't kick ''Rocks'' when you're wearin' yer Wellies You'll get farther down the road if you learn to back her off a bit. Never ask your bike to scream before her throat is good and warm. If you ride like there's no tomorrow-there won't be. Daily maintenance should never be neglected, and is advisable If it take more than 2 bolts to hold it on, it's probably crucial. Maintain your bike well: motorcycle boots are NOT comfortable for walking. If you can't get it goin with bungees and electricians tape-i…

I was wondering if anyone had any hints or tips for getting a rear tire back on the rim when out on a Scottish moor? I had always thought that should I be unfortunate enough to have the rear come off the rim I would take out the valve and fit the spare front tube in the rear. I thought I would then be able to inflate it with a pump and a CO2 cartridge to get it out onto the rim before letting it down to a more useful pressure to continue riding the sections before getting back to Fort William

Please note that no traders will be allowed into the West End Car Park before 6pm on Thursday 3rd May. This year the local council have asked us to ensure that no vans, trucks or stalls go into the car park earlier than 6pm on Thursday. This is one of the conditions that are to be met if we are to be given the use of the car park for the week, so we'd ask you all to respect their request and refrain from parking any trade vehicles in the car park until then. After that, the famous Rab will be on duty to direct operations - just one of his many talents! Looking forward to seeing you all there again - keep your fingers crossed for some sunshine!

Hi all, I am the happy owner of the book 'The Scottish 1900-1962' by Tommy Sandham, published by Willow Publishing. I would like to get the second volume, covering the period 1963-1989 by the same author/publisher. Could anyone provide some information on how to get this second volume ? Many thanks, Pierre

Grimbo has been out on the fourstroke quite a bit recently, is this going to be his SSDT mount ?. After a disaster of a debut in 05, can it turn the tables and be the first four stroke to win the event since the sixties ? right man on it, favorite to win the event in my book. Mont, also in with a good chance with Dabill.

Trying to trace history of my Tlr 250. This was registerd by Honda UK and has the next reg number after E. Liguene's works Honda(you can see his reg number in '4 stroke finale' dvd/book). It was ridden in the scottish as it has some very faint markings on the engine relating to the marking system used at the SSDT but is un-readable. Also this bike has RTL bottom engine numbers stamped and an external oil feed from front of gearbox to the head. I would like to get hold of entry list's from 84/85 to see if it might show up who owned/rode the bike? I bought the bike from John Lee m/c in 2003 and apparently it had been stored for 12 years prior to this. Any help appreciated.

Well i've booked the time off work but only for the Classic 2 day so plan to drive up on Thursday and stay till Sunday night drive home Monday. At least i should see 1 day of the main event also. As this is my first time i assumed that Fort William was the best place to find accomodation however at the Trial on Sunday some old hands told me not to but to try and stay at Kinlochleven. They also said that i probably wouldnt have a cat in hells chance as all the accomodation would be booked up already. So whats the score chaps and chapettes, Highland Lassie included of course got to watch me p's and q's now or i'll probably get a thump, where is the best place to stay and …
