The Trial des Nation effort is in full swing. The plan has been to get as many opportunities as possible that will allow our riders to compete with the best support available. After a so- so 1st round in Spain some of us wondered if maybe far too many quality events were missed for an American kid to be in the mix,but after a quick week of adapting Pat and his wonderminder put them right in the hunt . All I can say is WOW and all other superlative words you can think of. We (Team USA) are asking US clubs to support Team USA by buying a box of 45 Bernie Books. ...... The author Len Weed has had these stashed away in his storage locker for donkey's years... Everyone thought that this book was unavailable. Well here they are. After these are gone there are no more. Own a piece of history and a great learning tool. Bernie and Len did a great job of laying out the fundamentals of our sport....and the basics haven't changed. Timeless photos and great stories. These books are NOS originals. Congratulations to V-Mar team riders Chris Florin and Colton Haaker for their wins today in Ohio. The slippery conditions made for some exciting riding. Section 7 was the killer for the Pro riders with only Chris and Keith (both V-Mar riders) making it over the big gnarly undercut step. This was the defining section with the top three Pro riders finishing with only a 1 point between them. Cody and Patrick were tied for second, one point behind Chris, with Patrick getting the win on cleans. Bruce LeRiche had a good showing today after putting on a new set of V-Mar snail cams. Goodmorning everyone. We should have fair coverage (with photos) on the TTC National this weekend. Weather is perfec. it's going to be in the upper 80's or low 90's by mid-day. Last night a decent thunderstorm rolled through the mountain ridge, which may or may not have a effect on today's sections. We'll see.

I want to apologize to all the TC readers on the lack of photos and full results for the Texas National. I'll give TC readers a much more complete view of rounds # 3 and 4 next week in Tennessee. Anyhow, here are a few excuses. I didn't take the camera on the loop trial this weekend, my back pack was full of water to keep our team hydrated. Wi-Fi Internet access seems spare in Texas. High gusty winds up to 45 miles an hour caused dust storms. ( Ah, the perverbial weather report. ) All my batteries went dead, our generator was working at half voltage. I guess Craig is slumming so I wanted to be the the first to report that Sherco mounted TEXAS rider Josiah Mizell took the Overall Championship at the TTC Youth National with a 1,1,4 in the daily finishes! I was told it was a tough and close event with Josiah , Ronnie Commo and Alex Bedley battleing it out! Sorry but that is all the info I have at this time. These kids are GREAT! Congrats to all!

FWIW, The rest of the us in under winter watch and snow. We're perparing for our first round of the Tx state series. Gary Jackson memorial 2-day as it's billed. Great piece of property about 2 hours south of dallas and 2 north of Houston in Centerville Tx. Dirt ravines and creek beds with a few rocky sections. Gonna be a great event and a good time for your northerners to get some practice with no snow. If it rains it'll be a little messey ,but that is trials.
