Classic Trials

Hi, I'm new to this forum and new to trials in general. I am looking at getting into the sport. However, there is one big problem: I live in China. A country which is definitely not known for its Trials motorcycles. Importing japanese bikes is out of the question and classic trials can't be found anywhere. The option I've been looking at is to buy a vintage scrambler motorcycle that are common here. Usually custom made. One example: Most of the bikes include a choice of either 125/150/200/ 250cc engine, with a vast selection of gearing options available. Guys Can you help , did anyone other than Sammy Miller make a nickel [or chrome] plated frame for the 250 Bultaco Sherpa 198 series ? Cheers Greg can post a picture later , but just wondering as I know Mike Whitlock did make frames for the TY's & RL Suzukis , did he ever build a Bultaco frame or was this always Sammy's business.

Any one heading the Burton trial at Clifton on Sunday?. I am aiming to be there falling off my panther with great regularity.That's depending on if tossers round here have left some petrol in any of the garages.As my car is low on fuel and I will need some to be able to go.

I have a 1972 Bultaco 350 Model 92, registered 1/8/1972, (original red Slimline SM replica glass tank) and I am just wondering if anyone knows the correct silver paint colour on the tank - i.e. similar to Ford Silver Fox ? The tank appears to have been painted as the black "pinstripe" between the red tank and silver flash which has the "Bultaco" sticker is raised in profile. I just wanted to paint the silver part and was looking for a matching colour.

So I finally got some pics of my dad tooling around in the yard with his TLR 250 (I think). I know it is a fairly rare bike, but I'm not sure exactly what model it is. I guess I could always ask him then eh?

Hello all This is my first post on the classic part of the forum , to introduce , im from perthshire in scotland , been away from competing for about 10 yrs but , got a bike last year and started again , Ive had a 250 crusader that i rebuilt to std condition a few years ago , i have used it on the hill a few times but its quite a bit more clumsy than a b40 , and ive had a shot of a bullet that seemed to be a lot better balanced and sprung better. I'd like to have a go at the pre-65 trials and if any one had any pointers on the preparation of the crusader to improve it , some have said to put a bullet motor in it , but i have seen a couple of crusaders being …

Hi all, newbie here, I have been thinking about doing some Classic Trials, probably twin shock, I live in South Hampshire and wondered if there was anything happening round here, I cant see any point in buying a bike to have some fun if that means a 200 mile drive and only 3 times a year! Maybe its just that I cant find the info but that's the way it looks... I hope you guys can put me right. Thanks, Phil

Have been running one of the newer Michelin tube type tyres I think they are crossply construction Been out three times and 2 Nip punctures so not a good ratio Running 6 psi and its on a B40 I also have the same tyre on a Tlr 250 and it seems ok Could it be a combination of heavy(ish)bike and softer sidewalls? Anyone else have the same probs? Marty D
