That time of year again, many people going to the Twinshock Dirtbike show at the weekend?

Hi all. I'm new to twinshock trials and have a 1980 ty 175. I live in redditch, Worcestershire and I'm having trouble finding somewhere I can compete. Can anybody help me please?

Hi all, anybody got any news on the twinshock team trial, the South Birmingham Motor Club are in the trials fixtures as running the event but I have'nt seen any regs or anything, does anyone know if the event will be run.

Entered the first round of the Twinshock Trials Championship at Congleton this Sunday. Very good trial with 20 sections 2 laps. Nice venue and very good sections and route with around 100 entries. I think it is a very good idea and initiative to try to get out the twinshocks from the garages to use them a bit and return to the trials of the 70´s. Bit muddy for a Spaniard... but aniway enjoyed a lot. Thanks to the motoclub. Some pics:

Hi - I am reasonably new to the world of trials riding at the age of 14; and since buying (with the help of my parent) a twin shock Honda 125cc trials bike it seems a little underpowered. Baring in mind I'm not the smallest of teenagers I was wondering if i could upgrade to a 150cc Fantic 200? The Honda needs a few things doing to it and it could cost around £500 to get right, would it be worth upgrading to a Fantic 200 (If I am able to) or would it be worth getting my bike properly working? A friend of mine recently found a copy of Sammy Millers catalogue with a price list from 1973. Now for those of you around at the time, this was the bible for any "bling" parts for you Spanish trials weapon, with loads of lightweight goodies on offer However, how many can remember how much things cost back then ???? So, I have scanned 3 pages and for a bit of fun, take a guess at the 1973 prices of the following items.... 1. The Sherpa mudguard stays (Item FM2) 2. The Ossa chainguard (MAR3) 3. Plastic front number plate (BSM)26 4. The fibreglass slimline kit....this came with seat and an alloy downswept tailpipe 5......and finally, the Bultaco Highboy frame kit…

Anybody contemplating a trip to a Spanish or French twinshock/Pre 65 trial next year should really consider doing this two day trial based near Ripoll. Just over the French border an excellent weekend, riding brilliant natural sections, its a long way ( Is Woody home yet ... )but well worth it .. Wack it in your diary or look on Todo classic nearer the date.

I'm over in California and have been looking at a couple of vintage monos. One is a 1983 TY 250 and the other is a 1985 TY 350 . I've been told to steer away from these bikes as parts are almost non-existent (top ends, bottom ends, clutch, etc.). I've been told the 250 is a better bike but the 350 is in better condition. Any advice you can give would be much appreciated. I'm a novice rider, weigh 60kg, and I currently ride a 1974 TY 250. I'm looking for another vintage trials bike that is a bit more plush to ride and I'd like the parts availability to do a full rebuild if it comes to that. Hello, I live in US and have been researching parts for a 1986 TY 250. does anyone know where I can obtain one?? I have been thinking about buying this TY250 but it needs flywheel and I havent been able to locate one. I ride a TL 250 but would like to add the TY250 to the collection. Thanks Larry

Hi all I’m new to this forum and am in need of some help , I’m looking for a pair of wheel rims for a ty80 or even complete wheels , I’m am restoring a 1976 model , have been told I can possibly get alloy but that’s not the way I want to go with it as I want it original , any help would be appreciated as all avenues I seem to go down are a dead end 🤨

Hi Im about to restore my sisters ty80 and as i have never restored a bike before i am not quite sure about how to go about it. The bikes engine is in very good condition so there is no work needed to be done there. The frame is rusting in places and mising paint so i was wandering how i would go about geting the frame, tank and out side of the engine repainted? How do i prepare it for painting? And how much will it rougly cost to get it done? Any other tips and coments about what i should do would be much apreciated. Thanks

does anyone have any info on how much the swing arm was lengthened on ty250`s someone has moved my shock mounting down,like on a majesty, but all this has done is raise the rear up in the air , and its flips over alot . im looking to gain abit more grip by extending the length of the swing arm and thus lowering the rear at the same time . any ideas ?

after several years away the old girl came back home so i decided to spruce her up a bit.- thought about the Cota172 seat/tank out in the "old building" and viola! other than shaving the stock tank mounting"ears" off-(GULP!) it was a slid into place almost meant for it fit.... ... so far.gotta figure out IF it leaks and i need a petcock.

Has anyone taken a standard 175 engine bigger than 200cc? if so using what piston and to what cc?, if not what piston is used for the 200 conversion?I have a ty 175 in a box to be rebuilt and think if done right could be better than a fantic 200, so as im starting from scratch any info or experience anyone could passson would be great. cheers to all dean

I've got a ty175 1979 after my dad passed away I brought some new levers as old ones are a bit of a finger trap ,put new one on clutch and after putting new lever on clutch does not disengage, so I put original lever back on and still clutch will not disengage would any of you have any idea what I have managed to mess up

I have a yamaha ty175 and the clutch lever has to be let almost right out before it engages. I have tightened the adjuster on the handlebar in as far as it will go and it still is to far out to be able to control it properly when riding. Is there anyway of adjusting it more maybe on the engine end so that it engages a few centimetres from the handlebar. Thanks
