Recently bought a 95' Techno with a strange wire setup for the ignition kill. The ignition kill wire from the coil has been rigged to a switch that connects to the horn, then the other wire from the horn goes to the 12v output on the voltage regulator as shown in attached image. The wire colors in the image are the same as on the bike. The kill switch actually works as wired but I wanted to remove the unneeded horn. Shouldn't the wire coming from the kill switch to the horn instead be connected from the kill switch to the ground? Thanks, Markc

I have never found Betas the most easiest of bikes to maintain brakes on, my sons Sherpa always seemed much easier .... but I am hitting a problem with my 09 200 and wondered if anyone has hit the same problem or has any thoughts. The rear started to show signs of being ineffective so I thought a full strip and service was needed. Taking the pots out and examining the seals showed significant wear so a refurb kit was purchased. After cleaning everything as I normally would do, the new seals and pots were refitted and one half went in OK whilst the other half would not move past the seal with reasonable pressure. Just to check it was not the seal grooves, I took the s…

As luck, good or bad, will have it I might be doing some horse trading for a 2002 Beta Rev 3 270. My fellow club member's 10 year son rides it and it is too much bike and he looks at my Sherco 125 with those eyes ... you know the ones we get when we fall in love with a new (to us) bike. And the truth is it is a better fit for him and his is a better fit for me. I am making the jump from vintage to modern (or I should say riding both). I bought the Sherco 125 so I could be schooled in modern technique - I've never used a clutch and brakes cannot be counted on. I ride a Bull Sherpa 250 and love it. I tried bigger modern bikes but they get away from me and I get in trouble a…

Just curious.. saw some mudguards for sale on e-bay for a Sherco I think..about 60 quid or something. I'm pretty sure I only paid about 30 quid for a rear guard on my 02 Beta rev3. Just another reason to buy a Beta!!! BUT..I wondered, did the more current rev3's (with the removeable bit on the rear mudguard/to get to air filter)...make it more expensive?? 30 quid for an 02 one is pretty good eh!?

Okay, I couldn't really find a discussion thread on tires aside from the odd mention of tire brands or tubliss here and there, and since I have a Beta, I'm putting it here. If there's a better area for this type of post, I'll certainly head over there... I'm mostly curious as to people's thoughts on the different types of tire (tyre) systems. Not brands like Dunlops vs. IRC or whatever. I'm thinking about true tubeless vs. tubliss vs. tubes (light or heavyweight) I'm new to trials (but not new to trail bikes), so I'm really curious what people are running. I recently put Tubliss on my trail bike and absolutely I love it, and I'm tending tow…

Hi there, I have an issue with the fan on a 2016 Beta Evo 250cc Factory, The fan is running intermittently & when it runs the rear light goes on & when it stops the light goes off - Strange! The fan is not running as it should so the bike would run very hot if I was using it. I will not use until I resolve the issue. Anybody experience this before? & have any suggestion to help me on my way. Thanks Stuart

My son has been out on his Beta 50 and is struggling to use/ find the rear brake so he's constantly having to use the front brake only. I have seen in the past some Beta 50s for sale with a handlebar lever conversion to aid the use of the rear brake. I'd like to fit one just incase something goes wrong, that way he'd be able to stop. So if anyone has any info on the levers used, cables and fitting of the conversion whilst retaining the original foot brake I'd be very grateful for any information. Many thanks.

Hey...I obviously have a water leak that's causing my crankcase oil to turn milky white. I'm assuming it has to be my water pump shaft seal that's leaking. Anyone have any experience replacing the seal behind the plastic impeller? Oh yeah...it's a 2001 Beta Rev 270. Bike runs great...no other issues that I can think of...plenty of power so I know it can't be a leaky cylinder base gasket.

Hi All i'm looking for a bit of advice...I have an 06 rev 3 which recently started to leak water from around the pump cover. I took said cover off and noticed that the bottom half of the groove in which the gasket / o ring sits had completly corroded away !!! I managed to stop it leaking with a silicone sealent, but since then I have noticed, when the engine is running, that the gearbox oil ( when viewed from the gearbox oil viewer) looks white. There is also a noticable amount of coolant missing after each ride but there is no evidence of oil in the water. I also checked behind the impeller but there was no corrosion, none that I could see anyway.... Do you think tha…

Can anyone tell me what year the Rev 3's in the blue colour scheme came out, please? I've got an interest in a 200 that's down as 2002/3 but I think the blue ones were earlier. Am I right? Thanks.
