  1. I put this in Beta as it mostly covers that brand but some feedback on other brands included. Its YT but audio only. Really interesting point about the 250cc standard versus factory models. Well worth 20 minutes of your day to listen to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ3Cq76bWzA Interview with Ray Peters - Beta Team Manager and Trials Coach (USA)

  2. I wonder if any Beta experts can help with this one? Long post I’m afraid… I recently bought a 2023 Factory 250, unwittingly a supposed ‘Euro Spec’ (or at least non-UK) version, the seller didn’t actually enlighten me to that detail. Usually this means no flywheel weight and a higher compression cylinder head insert, I believe. I bought it because I wanted a Factory for the better brakes, forks, yokes and rear shock and was of the belief that power wise, for UK spec models anyway, they were the same as the standard Evo. So, when I found out it was non-UK spec I took the flywheel off and the weight is present, and I fitted a standard head cover and low compression ins…

Hi The fuel tap solenoid on my Beta Evo 4T has stopped working. On examination one of the wires had broken off just where it joins the solenoid. I will have a go at reconnecting it or maybe buy a replacement. My question is why is this fitted to the 4T? The bike runs fine with the tap set to bypass the solenoid, and you can turn it off manually. Should I just leave it as is? Thanks Stuart

Hi I found a rolling chassis of Beta zero 260 and I'm looking for the engine, or enough parts to put it together. Transmission, cylinder etc etc, Let me know what you have.... Thanks

Does anyone have experience specifically of how much difference the flywheel weigh makes on a 250 Factory? I just bought a ‘23 model but wasn’t told it’s not a UK model, hence it doesn’t have the weight or the low comp head. I’ve ridden it for a couple of hours and love it, however one of the points of buying a Beta was to experience the soft power delivery etc for which they are renowned (usually with low comp head and flywheel weight I believe) which is clearly going to be different to my bike. So although I’m happy to ride it as is, I’m curious to know if I’m missing out on the experience somehow by having a slightly more potent set up (Euro spec)? My other b…

Hello. I have some problems with my son's beta rev3 50ccm jr bike. The bike gets very hot after some riding. I notice that the fan is not working. I tested with a 12v battery connected to the fan and it works as it should. I made a loop on the thermostat cable. I measure 21v input on the generator when the bike is running, but 0v out to the fan. Could it be the generator? Is 21v input correct?

My lads Rev 50 was due a plug change, I removed the old one NGK B5SH. A quick google indicates it should be a NGK B9ES. My issue is the thread is longer but does fit ok with hitting the piston but it also seems to rev a lot higher on tick over. Were these swapped for any reason or has previous owner just fitted an odd plug? And why would it rev a lot higher on ticker over? Any help or info would be much appreciated.

  9. Started by halfway,

Does anyone have any details of torque settings for a Synt 260 motor? Would have thought that other Beta engines would have more or less the same values so any for other models would help. Looking for values for the crankcase bolts, clutch basket and flywheel, cylinder head etc. cheers

  10. Started by halfway,

Steering head bearings in my Synt are shot but can't find them listed anywhere. The bearings are 42mm OD x 20mm ID x 15mm deep. I think they are the same size as lots of other bikes but anyone know what other models bearings will fit?

  11. Started by halfway,

Picked up an almost complete Beta Synt today, given away as owner has no time to fix. Brakes and frame all good, wheels and tank fine, cables and exhaust fine, rear suspension seized up and having trouble getting the pivot bolt out to remove the engine. Impeller problem with water in crankcase and front of impeller housing missing. 😬 I'm going to pull the engine and split it to have a look and see what can be done, the bike owes me nothing and happy to have tinker. So how bad is the corroded casings? Are any parts available or will it have to be a jb weld kind of bodge to get it running? Is there a work around fix? Bike looks too much fun to bin, it started 3rd kick …

Looking to put my new to me trials bike back to the stock springs as it had heavier springs for a previous rider and noticed the preload collar that was installed in it seems to be cracked. So I got to measuring and with the adjuster backed all the way out it has a preload of 9mm does this sound right or to much? I'm used to Enduro forks that run around 4 mm just wondering before I go and remake a new one. I don't know if this was factory length or modified for the heavier rider. Currently the spacer is 29mm long. 2015 Beta 300 Evo Factory Cheers, Colin

Hi! First, sorry my bad English, I recently got a 1995 beta techno that came with a Paioli USD fork. When I was cleaning it, I noticed that it had some electrical tape between this metal part where the dust seal is mounted an the fork legs. When I removed it I noticed that this metal parts can spin and my question is if this is normal on this kind of forks. I'm attaching a picture I found online so it's easier to understand. I still haven't used the bike as I'm still repairing it but I guess the previous owner put that tape because it was losing oil from that joint? Thank you!

My Evo 2013 3004T has started putting out black smoke at higher revs. I think the carb could probably do with an overhaul as it has not been looked at since I got the bike. Does anyone know if there is a rebuild kit available for this carb? Also, any tips for completing the work? Thanks

Hi all, I just bought a '98 Techno 270 Dougie Lampkin Replica. I'm a very heavy dude and almost bottom out the stock rear spring. Does anyone know any compatible replacement springs available out there, before I go spending hundreds at a custom spring shop? I found this custom shock being sold for 02-08 Betas, I wonder if it could be retrofitted? https://www.omniaracing.net/en/rear-mono-shock-absorber-hagon-for-beta-250-trials-20022008-p-133644.html

“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.” Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy In my never ending quest to improve my Beta (and ignore the fact that I’m the weak link) I’ve been thinking about the generally accepted weakness or at least variable feel of the Beta rear brake. It uses the same master cylinder as the other bikes. The caliper is not particularly different. I can only come up with one big difference between Beta and the other b…
