Anybody got a inlet to carb rubber ? I've tried Martin and Jumbostu. Thanks Ross Must be the SWM straight one, not the cranked Aprilia etc.

Hi all, after a few years of talking about it I finally bought a twin shock, and here it is what a beauty!! http://www.normandym...ry/IMG_6444.JPG OK so its going to need a lot of work to get it right, however under all the grime frame and side panels are not that bad. The engine is going to need a complete rebuild and a barrel as that's missing, but for what I paid for it I expected that. My question to you guys that know, was there ever a SWM in this colour scheme as it seems to be original rather than repainted or powder coated? SWM's and earlier Aprilia's had the PHBH 26 FS carb that had a petrol screw, later Aprilia's have the PHBH26 FS which appears to have an air screw ? Are they any better, or just different ? The one I'm thinking of using has a small brass connection which I think was a vacum to remove any build up from the crank case, but didnt work and was usually blanked off. Can anyone confirm ? Well my 350 Jumbo is together and runs great! A few things popped up on the first ride so went back into my shop for some "updates" As it stands right now the bike has: 99 Sherco front forks and triples, Aprilia front wheel, back wheel, swingarm and brakes. I also went to a magura jack hydraulic clutch......what a HUGE improvement over stock!, aluminum plates for CNC footpegs, FMF powercore silencer. Motor has: 84mm piston, new connecting rod, new main bearings, all new trans bearings, modified reed cage with dual stage 2 petal reed and matched cases. Going to a 28mm PWK this week....

1980 320TL std: Typical having a great trial yesterday dropping but 4 on two rounds and on the 1st section of the last lap, just entering the section bike stops dead, as if I'd pulled the lanyard off....she had lost her spark After the lunchbreak when I started her she was running a bit rough, almost 4 stroking, turned her off, restarted and she was fine. Trying to get my bike working again. (Stolen / recovered) An air cooled Aprilia with Rotax engine. The flywheel has been spinning on the shaft after the woodruff key sherred. I think the crankshaft is ok, but the taper on the flywheel has suffered, question is does the keyway start from nothing, or has it been worn away by the crankshaft ? Anybody out there want to sell a flywheel, if required ? The wiring has all been pulled out but shouldnt be to difficult to reinstate. I've got the engine out, head off, but the barrel wont move. Of the 8 studs that secure the head 4 go through to the crankcase ? I've put release oil down and will leave it overnight. Is it best to …

I don't need any convincing on the benefits of coppa slip, however, should it be used on Rotax motors? Will the motor act as a sacrificial anode ?

Just went out for a ride with my TL.NW 320 yesterday and the bike "performend" very well. But there is one problem I believe I have, the rear shocks - still the Girlings - are let's call it very soft, they have a little bit too much sag I believe, (and my weight is 70kg). They a superb for small bumps and absorbing well but I have noticrd that they lack progression. So I have now two possibilities: #1 Repair the Girlings, any Idea who can do this? #1.1 Repair the Girlings which will take weeks or months and additional get a replacement #2 Replace the shocks. Pulled the clutch cover off my Rotax 240 motor (tucked into an Armstrong/Can-Am frame, so thanks for allowing me into the SWM family!) due to the clutch sticking, even after warm. The prior owner ran some pretty thick gear oil, and the motor sat many years unloved. I prefer ATF, but things are still sticky. Discovered five friction plates and six steel plates. Should there be another friction plate? I am in the process of cleaning off the gaps in the plates, as I found some good material on this procedure elsewhere. I've attached the pdf. Hey guys what is up. As you can probably tell I am new here. I just picked up a 1973 SWM RS250 MC and i dont know a thing about them. But i am hoping you guys can help. The bike is in really ruff shape right now. I have been told that it runs but it doesnt have a kicker and as of right now he thought the coil or the plug were bad. Were do you guys get parts for these bikes. I would like to try and restore to as close to original as i can. down to frame color( I think it was orange). so if you guys could help me out here. As the title guys, the only twinshock i've owned was a late white frame sherpa....which i never gelled with so only having modern gear....monty and beta 250's what should i look for? Models to avoid....125 any good....few hills in norfolk parts availabilty...engine...cables...bushes....controls plastics easy to find riding experience rotary or reed valve anything else you can think of many thanks gentleman

Finally started to pull apart my 81 PECO 200 SWM . Not many of these were made, Not even sure if any others have survived out there. It was a small company called "Performance Equip CO" here in the UK that modified the std 125 SWM trials , I believe 6 were made, but some of this is just folklore, would love to hear more snippets about the history of these if anyone really knows .. Any way I've owned it from Circa 1985, Although my memorys not as good as it was, and apologies in advance for the fuzzy photos. And Yes it was a black frame model when it was first made... Anyone know if there are any difference to the steering angles between a Black 1981 SWM frame, (with full mudguard loop) and a 1983 Blue frame without rear frame loop ?

been thinking about it for a while, but with three SWMs in this weeks Sammy Miller round maybe its time for some SWM riding shirts ? Had a look on the Destroy Clothing website and they do a vintage style shirt (for Honda's and Bultacos for example) but they will make up an SWM logo'd shirt (the Racer style at bottom of the page) What ideally I need is; a good picture of one we can copy the style of (sure there is a picture of Danilo Galeazzi wearing a shirt with an SWM logo around the neck at the SSDT, but cannot now find it, Motosinge?). Making up 15-20 shirts will take a few quid off the price, as potentially would putting on a suppliers logo and URL (?) Anyone inter…

What is considered the best set up for these forks ? At present running 220ml of TQF (approx7w)and works OK, but open to suggestions. I weigh about 13 stones. The fork caps have a screw at the bottom, presumably to release pressure but seized solid at present, don't remember them having this, is it a modification ? Thanks Ross

Hi the project is started. I'd like to reline the shoes on my 80 tl 320, does anyone know the appox orginal lining thickness? We relign shoes all the time on old cars that are hard to find stuff for, plus we can get various compounds and real fast turn around from the shop we use. Price is good as well and no shipping....lol.....thanks
