Pretty disappointed to see that Sherco has changed from Mountain Motorcycles for the Canadian distribution of their motorcycles. Not sure of all of the details as I can't see where Sherco has announced the change, but this is from the TrialsPlus website of Mountain Motorcycle: "Mountain Motorcycle Ltd is no longer importer of the Sherco brand of trials motorcycles for Western Canada. That function has recently been assigned by the factory to Bob Billyard at Sherco Canada in Ontario, whose territory encompasses the entire country. I live Idaho and I'm interested in completing in the Pacific Northwest. I've been confused for months, at first I thought WTC was the world trials championship but now after reading into it I discovered it means world trials Canada. My question is are they affiliated with each other? Can anyone tell tell what events to attend on the Canadian side of the border? Ray Rotney

The Joss Mountain ride took place last Sunday August 26th - We had a total of 15 riders, including two former three time Canadian Trials Champions - Stan Bakgaard and Steve Fracy. The Mountain is 7825ft at the Summit and unfortunately we ran into snow - This was the 4th and (maybe) last time for Outlaw Dave to make this difficult trek - it's like a long 35km section to the top. With nothing to do except browse the web: - I thought the rest of the World would like to know that Global warming does not apply in Canada !! - In the usually balmy Okanagan Valley of British Columbia it is a crisp -14 today, but that is warm compared to Calgary with a temperature of -32 + windchill = -49!!! And that children, is why I'm sitting at the keyboard today, instead of heading for Alberta.- I don't care how many customers are hollering for parts or Oil, I 'aint movin. - Oh ! and as for the brand new bikes sitting in the shop - looks like they will remain shiny for at least a couple more weeks.

All riders in Canada have now been automatically directed to TrialsCentral forums here, Due to the fact that one of the trials websites in this country, has decided to remove its forum altogether. Sighting constant problems with spam, upgrades etc. Interesting enough, that over a long period of time, people who have wanted to post responses were faced with the response of " forbidden". This is unfortunate. It is quite humorous though that it became not worth the work to correct things, at the same time as some constructive and perceptive comments were made about the enigma known as the "WTC". I have been watching "Ice Road Truckers" and I just had to post something about it. I definately have huge respect for those guys. Driving on ice, the heaviest load I have seen so far was 95,000 pounds. Plus some of those guys are pulling 30 to 42 hour days. And some people say us trials riders are crazy.

Just wanted to note that this year we are having Trials demonstrations right across this big country of ours. By working with the Canadian Motorcycle Show the sport of Trials has been given some great visibility. Last year Jordon Szokes had done a few shows out West and in Toronto. This year I jumped on the band wagon and tried to organize a show for the East Coast. In my efforts to organize it I found out that Stephen Fotheringham with ATAQ was already planning a Demo for Quebec city and Montreal. The Moncton show was the week in between the 2 shows so the show organizer was able to transport all the staging between the three shows and the Belanger family was nice enough…

Hello all, I've got a '77 Bultaco Sherpa T 350. It has a fiberglass tank. I'm concerned with putting ethanol-based gasoline in the tank. I've been told by several people and read that the ethanol dissolves the fiberglass resin causing the tank to weep fuel over time. I've also read online regarding concerns about its solvents. As far as I am able to research, all Ontario pump gas contains at least 10 % ethanol by law. I've got several takes on preventing this but was hoping to gage your opinions on the subject. 1. Hi folks, Thought I'd post-up and say hi to my fellow Canadians. I'm just getting re-aquainted with the sport - I used to have a TY80 when I was a kid in the UK almost 30 years ago. Haven't riden a trials bike since then - but just picked up a 1993 Beta Gara 260 to play around with. I'm going to teach my little dude how to ride his XR50 next year and thought a trials bike would be the ideal machine to putt-along side him. I'm also interested in finding out about trials clubs in south-western Ontario and possibly competing an an easy class - once I have mastered the basics. I used to ride trials and enduro bikes in the early 70’s and have had street bikes until about 4 years ago. I thought I might get back into riding trials bikes again. I was hoping to ride a bike before purchasing but that has proved hard to arrange. Ride the vibe has cancelled it’s schools at Ioco and Popkum is open only on weekends. I have attended a couple of trials at Ioco but was unable to take their course due to lack of a bike. If anyone knows where I can get a test ride I’d be grateful for the information. I intend on joining the club I am also wondering if there are any other places to ride nearer to White Rock than Ioco. What brand of bike has the…

I just read through the recent "Trouble at AHRMA" thread on the USA forum. Yikes! Almost as bad as reading CMA/WEC politics for modern Canadian Trials! As for the former, all politics aside, the riding issues sound very familar to ones I have heard since starting to help organize and compete in vintage events here in Canada over 20 years ago. Ironically, some of the vintage bikes we see out in recent times were being used in modern events back when we started "vintage" trials in Eastern Canada! Much has changed and the old guard of BSA and Triumph riders are almost completely absent now, while the ubiquitous TY's , TLs, Sherpas, etc. are all over 30 years old. Turnouts…

The first two rounds of the new WEC Canadian Championship Trials Series were held on the May long weekend in Summerland BC. - With 54 riders on Saturday, 55 on Sunday and 11 for the Vintage on Monday, a good time was had by all. The winner of the Champ class on both days, was Steve Foord, who recently emigrated from the UK - Steve was well known as a minder for both Graham Jarvis and Sam Connor. - The Sherco rider soon adapted to the Canadian terrain, and beat out the top riders from Vancouver and the West coast.
