Hi guys, Can anyone help me with the standard piston bore size of the 240 (212cc) engine to the nearest mm. if anyone has a scrap piston available and has time I would also like to know the gudgeon pin diameter, crown height from pin center to piston crown and the overall piston height. Hi I’ve got a fantic 1984 red and white trials bike I am after a coil for it the only ones I can find are blue ones which you modify slightly does anyone know wether this will fit the 1984 fantic or tried to fit it. Many thanks Michael

My bike is sounding lean at about 2/3 and up throttle. (It almost sounds like detonation.) I’m running an OKO 26mm carb, 48 pilot and 115 main, needle clip in the second notch from the top. The main is one size bigger than required. I don’t think it’s a carb problem anymore. I checked my timing and it’s right on. I checked my pipe and it appears clear and the muffler is a new Wes. I’m running the stock champion plug. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have an ‘82 240 Pro and I have read plenty on the perks of moving the pegs. I’ve not seen anything regarding how far down and how far back they need to be. Anyone have dimensions? Thanks

Hello Forum, I'm newly signed up here, but thanks to all; I've been a vistor to the site for many years... I've been restoring an '86 301 Progress1 for a while; close to riding it now [hopefully], but been struggling long time to find rear axle spacers and dust seals, or their spec / interchange-ability with other models; I've no parts diagrams to help me unfortunately; does anyone have this knowledge to share please? or even better, parts to sell? Could anyone help me towards my goal pls? Any /all advice very gratefully recieved... Diolch Neil

Hi everyone, as above... What gearing is the prefered choice when using a 520 chain set up? Clubman/intermediate rider, doing classic trials, Kia rounds etc. My bike has 11/51 gearing. Have recently purchased the bike and haven't had chance to ride it in anger yet, but wondering if 11/51 will be too tall. Thanks in advance.

Hi dose anyone have or know of where I can get new or in good condition fantic 300 1984 badges for the side panels/petrol tank covers? the silver and black ones there are some on ebay but they don't look like they are very good. thanks for the info

Hi everyone. Is it possible to convert a 200 pro into a 240 and vice versa? Are the bottom ends of the engine the same, i.e. gearbox ratios, crank, con rod etc? Would the barrels be a straight swap, and would you need to change the exhaust and carb? I know all the pro model frames are the same and I'm curious to find out if it's possible. Thanks in advance.

Hello People, as above, I have always had probs with up shifting regardless of oil type(mainly 1st to 2nd). I've put up with it in the past but now want to try and resolve it, nothing dismantled yet until I know what I should be looking for, so your advice please. Basically, gear shifting has always been notchy(up and down) and selecting 2nd gear from neutral is always fraught with danger as it almost always jumps back to neutral after applying load, changing from 1st to 2nd mid-section is also out of the question as I never know if it's going to hold 2nd, in both these mentioned situations 2nd gear has felt like it engaged ok via the foot but has jumped to neutral a…

I just purchased a Fantic 240 trials that I intend to do a full restoration on. The bike came with NOS Marzochi shocks on the rear. are these worth keeping or should I replace with a more modern setup like Rockshox's?

Anyone got suggestions on the best clutch cable route ona series 1- 303? I bought the bike in an interesting state... Its starting to take shape finally just not sure where manufacturers intended cable to run. Advice appreciated....

Anyone out there found a gear lever with the correct off set for a back kick 200. Something alloy with a sprung end would be ideal?

Hello everyone .....i wanted to put a new rear sprocket on my 305 ,am using a 39 tooth one at present but feel maybe moving a bit quick in 1st .......most of our trials are 1st gear type sections the small sprocket is a 12 ...it is new and i dont want to change this . wondered what most 305 riders use thats all thanks in advance for any replies cheers Murray

Evening all. Do modern wide foot rests fit the standard Fantic hangers. I've just spent ages trying to find modern foot rest adverts that contain dimensions? Massive selection to chose from but no outside dimensions shown for the bracket end where the bolt slides through. I don't really want to take a punt on £35.00 foot rests and find I have to modify the frame and hangers.

I have a 200 Fantic with a really mashed up brake rod. Anybody know where I can get a new one? If not I'll make one, has stainless steel rod been used successfully bearing in mind the couple of bends needed to navigate the shock.

My 13 year old daughter is just getting into riding and has moved up from a Sherco 2 speed auto to an old 80 fantic air cooled mono which was the lads. He was happy to just tazz about on this, but I think she is going to want to compete. I've looked at other small bikes and they seem as useless as this one so, as I have a 125 engine I thought I would slot it in. I've seen some reports of people doing this years ago to create a useful schoolboy mount, but no technical detail. Can anyone remember if, they used the 80 or 125 exhaust and air box. Anything else that would be helpful???
