I am curious why the GasGas trials bikes use a reccomended 80:1/100:1 ratio when their enduro bikes use 32:1/40:1?

Hi all, I have been trying to get a rear brake piston and seal kit for the HEBO caliper off my 2000 Gas Gas TXT 200. I have been waiting 8 weeks for Gas Gas UK to send the parts and they keep telling me they cant control when Gas Gas Spain sends the parts! I have been waiting months to ride and its annoying the hell out of me! I cleaned the pistons and polished them and tried cleaning the seals and caliper so they are perfect but the pistons still stick on the damaged old seals. Any ideas as to a possioble solution rather than wait longer? Would a different caliper fit? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!! Cheers

My '04 TXT Pro has clutch drag and its also started to get quite hard to get into neutral (both symptoms are present after the bikes warmed up), I've watched the gasgas video on setting up the clutch lever so thats OK, have also read the long thread on friction plate thicknesses and I don't have any spare plates so can't mix and match. So my two options are switching to ATF, or I read somewhere on here about burning in the clutch so advice needed on both? I've read mixed views on ATF, some people say its fine and others say it can eat away friction plate fiber? Also is burning the clucth in recommended? I've heard you park up against a wall, rev the bike and drop the c…

i recently bought a gas gas 2010, i noticed it had a rattle at idle, which i was told is pretty normal with gas gas, but this is really loud compared to my mates gas gas... you can also hear it loudly when riding as well, which is very annoying! surely this cant be normal? vid of the noise, hard to realise how loud it actually is in a video...

Hello, I am new to trials but have been riding motorcycles for 33 years. A friend recently loaned me a 1992 Gas Gas GT25 and if I like it after a couple months he will sell it to me. I hope to pick it up this weekend. I found many good links on youtube for videos and how-to's and even parts manuals by searching on google. But I haven't found any specs such as the weight of the bike, or the fuel tank capacity, things like this. Does anybody know where I can find these specs or maybe you know them off hand? Talking with Jim Snell here in the US I found the OEM mudguards at a couple dealers. I figured I will wait until I break these. They are old Yamaha fenders my friend ri…

Just bought a 1996 JTR 270 and have some questions to ask. The seller advertised it as a TXT 270 but when I look at the paperwork he has for it there is a letter from Gas Gas saying that the frame number indicates it is a JTR 270. What is the difference between the JTR and TXT models and how will I know for sure which one the bike is (I assume it is a JTR model as Gas Gas have said that it is)? I have had the bike running and it has a couple of issue that need fixing but I cant seem to find anywhere that lists parts, nor do I know how to fix one of the problems: 1) The exhaust manifold to engine connection has a leaking gasket and you can see the current gasket looking …

I'm at my wits end... any suggestions appreciated. I have an '04 TXT Pro 280. Took her to her first trial last weekend. The bike pops at idle so badly that she surges forward with each pop. Not helpful when trying to negotiate full lock turns. What I've done: -Cleaned all the jets and every hole in the carb with compressed air -Fiddled endlessly with the fuel screw (Dellorto VHST 26mm) -Cleaned and re-sealed the exhaust header gasket -Cleaned and re-sealed the intake -Checked the reeds -New plug -Put in fresh gas, clean filter, clean coolant -Repacked the silencer -Checked the jetting compared to suggested jetting Only thing I haven't done is clean out the mid…

Anyone ridden a 2019? Contents in the stock gearing compared to previous years? It looks like they changed the final drive gearing to 10/39, but I'm not sure about any internal gearing changes. I typically take my GG's to 10/42 from the standard 11/42, which is nice since front sprockets are cheap and the stock gearing is way too tall for our terrain.

How many of you have switched from Sherco to Gas Gas? What are your experiences? The reason I ask is that a friend let me ride his 300 Pro and it was great! The steering, motor and handling in general seemed perfect. Anything negative to look out for? Thanks!

Hello, i have problem with clutch pick-up. When im droping the clucth i can't get a good jerk (burst/spurt..don't know how proper on english). It feels like clucth disks are worn out and it slips. Before that i could pull a wheelie at 5th gear and at 1st make a good sharp "jerks", but now bike just like for easy clubman rider, it has pick-ups but soo light - i don't like this. What i did to examine: My clucth is old (2006 Raga 300), but i changed 1 plate in past 3 yrs. I just measured clucth basket - it is 9.75-9,8mm thick and 10 fingers are 17.5-18mm tall (like was stated on Jim Snells site 17 +/-1mm). I have 2 new fibre plates (i think it's "Surflex" - 3 disks kit fr…

Hi Guys, has anyone any experience in the txt gas gas kick start spring? I am in the process of putting my engine back togeather and now I can't get the kick start lever to return back in to the storage place, the spring has got loose now and its like mission impossible to try to wind up the spring and then put the kick start shaft in to it.... so I am thinking my next move is to buy a new one, wonder does it come tensioned?.... oh and does anybody know what the part code for the needle bearing that the kick start shaft sits into? Cheers Colin

Hi, i'm desperate for help, I got water in my gearbox oil so replaced the seal. On inspection the shaft was worn so replaced that to, yet after 15 min running the oil contaminates with water again! the coolant level hasn't seemed to have dropped. Is there anything obvious i'm missing? In fairness I haven't replaced the O ring seal on water pump so don't know if that is letting water in when I ride in the wet/ wash the bike? could this be a cause? I'm running out of ideas now so any help would be great. cheers, Al

My friend has recently bought this Gas Gas, reportedly a 2003 TXT Pro 200, I cant find information either on the bike or on the internet to prove Gas Gas actually made a 200 in 2003, my gut feeling is this could be a 2002 125 ??? Can anybody help ??

I recently purchased a Gas Gas TXT Pro 250 and had a few questions: Is a real service manual anywhere to be found ? What is the easy way to start the bike - sometimes it kicks right over and other times it is a workout! What is the factory compression (as measured on a gauge so I can tell how my top end is) Best places to find replacement plastic. THANK YOU
