hi, our ossa 1975 250 mar has got a silver sammy miller exhuast on. it makes a right racket. very poppy and loud compared to our 348 mont. can you get an original one? would this be better? or any after market one?

hi, got a very nice clean ossa mar 1975 250. hasnt been used much. while we have owned it we have only used it on our drive and just had it stored . well anyway it runs perfect on flat but as soon as you twist the throttle and the front lifts up or you attempt to go uphill or up a bank. it bogs badly and will cut out unless you give it even more then it will roar up at high revs. and if you hold constant throttle for a few seconds say 1/4 throttle cruising then give it more then it bogs, again you have to give it even more to get out of it. seems to me it seems to be an issue with the floats in the carb. like there not adjusting when angled or like theres not enough fuel…

Hi, since we have dark winters here in Sweden I would like to attach a small led headlight on my tr280 201. I'm wondering if any of you know how much output the alternator gives. And which of the cables I can connect the headlight to. Take care folks!

Any ossa fans out there know if theres an easy way to identify the engine size of a 70`s mar. Its been suggested mine may not be a 244 as originally thought but a 310. As the bike is running ok at the moment I dont want to take it apart to find out but I would be interested to know.

Having a few issues with rear wheel alignment on my MK1 MAR Does anyone know the length of the original spacer between the sprocket and swingarm please - this is the original dished sprocket with the longish spacer I've now fitted a new dished sprocket on a newly built wheel in place of the old flat conversion but the spacer is long gone. Normally I'd just measure the gap and make the spacer but I've an added problem. The wheel that came out of the bike was the original MK1 with thinner brake shoes but it had some damage. The wheel I've rebuilt is a MK2 with the wider shoes and the MK1 brake plate won't fit (I'd forgotten there were differences and the brake plate for t…

My question is about the drive chain tensioner that pushes up on the chain and provides a tight wrap of the chain on the rear sprocket. The rubber pad that contacts the chain is attached to a steel lever that is somewhat spring loaded. There is an additional spring that attaches to the frame and goes down to the tensioner lever. This second spring was disconnected when I got this bike and the rubber has hardly any use at all. Should this second spring be connected by hooking to the bottom of the steel tensioner lever? If it should be attached, should I lube the rubber with, say, silicone spray? Thanks for any help on this. Jim

  8. I noticed my clutch slipping a bit in the higher gears a few weeks back. I gave the lever more free play at the MC just to make sure it had some. It seemed to get better for some time (it was hardly slipping before). Today during practice I noticed it was slipping again, badly. After some time today the bike was pretty much unable to be ridden. I've not had a chance to tear it down yet but will soon. Anyway I am guessing this bike has less than 40 or 50 hours on it total time as it looked brand new (as in not a scratch on it anywhere) when I got it. I don't see how it's possible to have this clutch be gone so fast, is there anything I should look for when I ope…

I have a problem with the tool-box panel on my Ossa Mar. It clearly becomes hot from the exhaust pipe behind it and the paint keeps blistering. I have smoothed it down and re-painted and wrapped some heat deflector material around the pipe but after a short run it's as bad as before. Does anyone have a solution ??

Hello All, Has anyone dealt with Ossacels recently and how did it go? I ordered parts for my MAR months ago and have not seen them yet, I've sent numerous emails both in english and spainish and had no reply. I haven't paid for anything yet as I chose COD, he didn't offer PayPal as an option when I ordered online. It's frustrating the hell out of me that I can't get parts I need out of him and that my emails go unanswered.

Hi there guys, not sure if this question has been asked before but has anybody fitted a 2013 seat unit to the 2012 bike,I assume the frame was identical? I see an an earlier post someone had fitted a 2013 rear guard to the 2012 seat unit, thats fine untill you want to upgrade to a 2013 or 2014 decal set as the seat unit is slightly different where the rear guard connects, and the earlier (2012) decal set has 3 extra pieces in it for that area of the seat base. So if you upgrade to the later year decal set it may not fit the seatbase even if you have fitted the later rear guard ? diga

Hi Just picked up a 2012 bike and it needs a new back mudguard as the former owner has repaired the one that is fitted to the bike and I wondered if the 2013 rear mudguard fits the 2012 as it is made more flexible plastic and also do I have to get the 2013 graphics or will the 2012 fit Thanks

Having a little trouble identifying this ossa, I`ve seen some pics of other canti-lever bikes but none have the bend in the seat stay above the brake cable stop. I`ts obviously recently had some restoration work and I`m hoping to find out who did the work and hopefully trace its history. I bought it in Leeds and the seats been recovered by dlc so guess its a local bike. I`ve added some pics and with any luck someone might recognise the bike and help with leads. I guess it would have been registered for road use at some point and I`d like to to trace its reg through previous owners etc. i know its a rare bike so would think someone must have seen it about and I`d be grat…

  14. Hi new to the site, but I have been snooping around here for a while. I'm interested in changing my bike. I have a 2013 Beta 300, but I just have no love for the bike, and feel it's time to move on. I have been looking at the OSSA and GasGas as the main choices. My questions, anyone coming from the Gasser to the Ossa find much of a differance? Plus I have a line on the 2014 for a great price, any major changes between it and the 2015 other than BNG? Thanks

my 2013 has started to leak oil from the output shaft... i see on the parts list there is a bush with 2 o rings behind it... im guessing if i remove the front sprocket i can then remove the bush and o rings.... but can the actual seal be removed without pulling the gearbox out? thanks

  17. I see this in my user manual is this something I can plug into the existing harness on my 2013 OSSA Factory? Anyone know if the sending unit is already in the fuel tank or not? There is no way to know how much fuel is left (only gripe with the bike so far) and it might be nice to have an indicator of sorts. Anyone know for sure?

Great day today took delivery of my OSSA 2013 factory Bike has the latest capacitor easy start system installed and fired up on the 3rd kick out of the shipping crate. I got to spend about 2 1/2 hours on the bike today and so far I am liking it lots. First impression is that it is very different power and overall tighter feel than I am used to with my 2004 Sherco 2.9. It's power is very crisp and snappy yet rock steady and solid way down low. I find it much easier to control lofting the front end around and it's easier to hop over logs or anything else than with the Sherco due to the near instant throttle response. Like the no fuel petcock, no choke just fire …

  19. My 2013 factory 300 is coming in on Wednesday the manual is with it. I'd like to have the fuel ready to go when I get the bike. Is there a specific oil that Ossa recommends, or can I use the same Maxima K2 that I use in my Sherco? What ratios are you guys running? Tnx.
