Sorry to start off here with a negative thread but I am having a complete mare with the rear brake on my 4RT. It's been a little problematic but no big issues until 2nd last time out when I did a big jump which split the res to MC pipe, fixed that and but it then refused to bleed even though we tried new MC parts. I replaced the MC with new and it bled easily enough, took it out again and the brake started binding as I guess in my desperation to get a brake I over adjusted it.Backed it off and pushed the pads back and no brake pressure no matter what we did. I have bled the normal way, reverse bled, used a vacum bleeder and some of the finest trials brains have…

4ride owners, do you ever have issues with your bike being considered an enduro, trail bike or other? I'm considering getting one but where I ride strictly forbids enduro bikes. If the owner/operator considers it an enduro (or believes other might think it is) then it's a non-starter. I asked about a KTM Freeride last year and he said no... and he's not the most patient of men.

My conrod had sideways movement of over 3mm, is this normal. Clymer manual says .4 to .5 of a mm but the book does stop at 75 and i have 76 mrr. Is it spaced into position by little end ? I did run/ride it a short distance before dismantle and it ran smooth and quiet so unsure whether it need replacing or not. Just seems very odd to have such movement but nothing seems amiss apart from this 3mm sideways movement. Has anyone any ideas at to whats amiss. Engine didnt seem to have recently if ever been apart, bore+piston in excellent condition just wear on one gear, barrel nuts were very difficult to remove giving me the impression it had not been apart. Hope someone has a…

Hi there team, i am currently looking for some spare rear spokes for my '97 315R. The short ones are L/R the same. The longer ones different though. Short ones: compatible with 4rt? Long ones L: compatible with 4rt? Long ones R: compatible with 4rt? Tried the search but couldn't get a clear answer on that one. Part numbers are not matching. Maybe somebody knows it straight away. Thanks

Hi there team, i have ordered a rep kit and a float valve for the carb of my Cota 315 (1997). I have been given a 200er float valve. But once opened the carb I've found a 270er in it. The parts catalogue doesn't give an indication about the size. Anybody some knowledge if it is a 200er or a 270er? Given the bikes age I wouldn't be surprised if this has been changed over time Thanks in advance and regards from New Zeland, Pascal

Hi, does anyone know if there are metal tanks available to fit under the orignial glass fibre seat & tank unit? I know there are treatments available to prevent ethanol 'eating' the glass fibre but a metal tank would be preferable.

Hi, I recently bought a Montesa 200 frame for a project and now that i look at it closely i am not sure if one of the downtubes is bent or it is meant to have a kink in it to allow exhaust routing or similar, its the right hand tube, Could any with more knowledge offer some advice, cheers Ian

I can get this 2001 Montesa Cota 315R for $1150 or 750 GBP. What do you think of the bike from looking at the pictures? Everything on the bike is in working order and the bike does not need any work so it is just to hop on and ride the bike Well, i suuppose i will need to change the oil since the bike have not been used for some years according to the seller I could off course paint the bike if i buy it Do you think i sould buy this Montesa Cota 315R? If i buy it i would like to get the bike looking like a Repsol bike I suppose the 315 R is the same bie in 2004? Note that i already have a Gas Gas TX 320 that i just put on a 3,5 liter fuel tank…

Hi all, I'm in the process of restoring a Cota 200, starting first with splitting the crankcase to replace main bearings. After removal of cylinder head & barrel, I've noticed there's some light scoring on the bore and piston skirts. Anyone know the best place to get a rebore/piston kit done in the UK? Much appreciated!
