Could someone tell me where the headlight switch for the 4RT should be positioned? Do I have to buy a switch holder thingamie too? thanks.

Hi, has anybody used an inline fuel tap to bypass the problem of turning the fuel on with gloved sausage fingers ?

Having searched the forum, I haven't found much mention of valve adjustments. Having owned a Honda CRF 250R, thats all anyone talked about. So on your 4rt how often are you adjusting the valves, and how much out have you been? As for myself, I am due for an adjustment and would like to know what to expect. Regards, Wardo

Hello all, after close to 50 years of road racing, I've bought a 1991 Cota 310. I didn't want to spend a lot of money for my first attempt at trials so I'm happy to make and modify parts but I'm a bit lost without a workshop manual. I've searched the internet but can't find one for sale so I was hoping someone on here may be able to help.The swinging arm spindle was seized solid in the bushings so I've fitted new needle rollers amd made new bushings I've fitted new taper rollers in the steering head so the chassis is now OK but without info I'm struggling to get to grips with the engine. Dear Trials Central people, It's about this time of year that I think about these things i.e. does anyone know where I can get some intake reeds for a 4rt and what sort of performance gain can I expect? Thank you in advance for any replies.

Hi all when i brought my bike 5 months back it had a br10 es spark plug in it and would foul every 4 or 5 times i went out on it since speaking to a mate and checking my manual ive found it should run on a br6 es but since ive changed it ive noticed a loss of power in the top end though more power down low. just wondering what plugs everyone else is using (ps previous owner motox and trials mechanic) Thanks Robin

Apologies for bringing up this well trodden subject again. I have been reading a number of old threads, and the only sure fired cure seems to be an after market clutch kit. I have changed the gear box oil to ELF, no difference. Setting off in 2nd seems to help, but when you are learning to ride trials it is a distraction I could do without. (If you can call constant stalling a distraction!) Has anybody got any experience of fitting a clutch kit? If so was it successful, and which one did you fit? Thanks Uncle Dave

tests are showing my cooling fan to be on the way out. I've removed the 4 bolts but it still seems quite tight getting it out - just thought I'd check - is it possible to remove the fan without removing the whole radiator?

Anybody know where I can pick up a mitani sump guard/ bash plate from? Any help appreciated!

Hi folks, I' am looking for an alternative carb for a Montesa Cota 242, the OEM fitted Amal is good but shows some wear especially the slide and cylinder area of the carb body , surplus the bike came from a high mountain area and I live at 50m above sea level so I have to readjust the carb of bike quite a bit. As the bikes I have in the garage are fitted with Dell'Ortos, I would like to keep the inventory of spare parts jets, needles gaskets and so on low . So do anyone have tried to swap the Amal through a Dell'Orto and can even provide their choice of jetting's needle and slide? would be great and !

Hello; I have realised there is no damping left in my shocks. So i made my mind to take them apart and inspect. first of all I am happy its a a rebuildable design. İt has a threaded cap that lets you to reach internals.I opened the cap and saw the spring on the bottom of the piston rod is broken. I can make a new spring thats not big deal. The shocks are twin tube design the o rings and seals are far gone. I can replace the o rings but the shaft seals seems to be very narrow design . I can not find any information on rebuilding this kind of shocks. they are not gas shocks . Any information will be very helpful. Major problem is the seal dimensions and availability, a…

Hi, Looking for a bit advice, not a clean tick over on my 4RT, its wandering .. high then low.. What could it be ? Havent tried a new plug yet , but I've heard the gap on the plug should be closed up ? can anyone confirm ?. It's fine once above tick over and revs normally ? Does having the rear baffel out make any difference ?
