Continuing on the 349 ‘81 thread (white wonder I’ve been advised) here’s one for the aficionado’s out there who know more about these the than I do (which to be honest isn’t difficult😜). the frame is stripped & now at the powdercoaters waiting for a little tlc. Although she’s been clearly neglected the latter part of her life, there seems no lasting damage on the frame nor the swinging arm. I did notice there’s no evidence that she’s ever been painted, the frame & swinging arm are simply pure surface rust.......but.......there’s a hint of either silver paint & definitely a hint of chrome, albeit just a morsel here & there. so, ‘those who know more …

I realized the other night that I have had a '98 Montesa. '98 GG and an '01 Beta. The GG and Beta are gone but I still have the Montesa. The other bikes ALWAYS needed something done to them. The GG steering stem broke twice, head gasket(o-ring really) blew and coolant flooded the cylinder, Dog bone linkage bearings failed, gas cap broke, rear wheel bearings failed, air box leaked and fork seals blew. The Beta fork seals blew twice, the foot peg mounting bracket bent, the rear brake caliper mount bent, the carb siphoned all the fuel into the cylider and flooded the crank case, air box leaked, shift lever broke, rear brake caliper started sticking and the exhaust mount brok…

Plan on posting a photo to show what's going on when I have one, but for now wanted to get this post up. Have a 2017 300RR and when I purchased the throttle cable sheath was broken near the top where it meets the housing on the bars, and the angle of it was sharp as though it was bent. I replaced it, but now 1.5 years later this one is doing the same. I have looked at pictures of routing the cables and I'm not entirely sure mine is correct, but I have seen more than one routing where one goes behind the bars and beside the tank, and another picture of the routing in front of the bars. I just want to stop this happening again, so if anybody has heard of this issue or has a…

Just fitted new chain and sprockets to my 315 and there's quite a bit of variation in chain tension on every rotation of the rear wheel. What should I be looking at to fix this?

Mags Did you set the Tiny Tach on 720 = 1 spark per 2 revolutions? .5 spark per revolution I believe is the correct setting, but the unit only allows 720 degrees or 1 spark per 2 revolutions which one could argue is the same thing. We don't know the programming related to the firing or the “wasted spark” characteristics of the Montesa FI. I bought one of the Tiny Tach and set it on the 720 setting. The revs drop down when the fan kicks by about 150 RPM. So far so good. BillyT

I've got to the point where I dread having to take the bashplate off my 315. Last time to get it back on I used a combination of a jack and mole grips and even then it was a nightmare! I've tried a ratchet strap too but didn't really help. Anyone got any tips?

Hellow, does a titanium front pipe provide better cooling of the engine? I've read that the radiator would then turn on less. Greathings, Luc

Are titanium side stands worth the cash ??? I have one on my 4RT, going up a steep mud bank Wednesday night, couldn't quite make the top so had to bail laying the bike down on its side. It slid back down a bit till it dug in, nothing special no speed or rocks involved it just dug in and just the weight of the bike managed to bend the side (at the location of the bend) 90". Really didn't expect titanium to bend like that, may as well get alloy for the price. Any thoughts ?
