  1. Does anyone please know if the numbers on both jets and slide fitted to Delorto and Mikuni mean the same and can be directly compared?
  2. Search for Motocarb they supply Mikuni carbs for all sorts of bikes
  3. I believe that Derby Road and Race sometimes make the Majesty frame for the 250 motor
  4. http://www.peakmotorcycletrialsgroup.org.uk/ Look at Man 17 also Manchester & High Peak
  5. This is who made the alloy tank seat unit for Bultaco when fibreglass tanks were not allowed in the UK https://gracesguide.co.uk/A._J._Homer_and_Sons
  6. My OSSA TR77 Verde 1979 The footrests have been relocated lower and rearward a Mikuni VM26 fitted with pleasing results, Saftek brake linings make it stop well and rear tail silencer made from an old motocross one cut down. The sump shield originally fitted to the bike is made from steel and very heavy, I found one from a slightly earlier MAR identical in appearance but made from alloy so much lighter. I have since found a nos Renthal one these do not have the curved sides but have yet to try it on the bike.
  7. Like the MAR have you a photo of the other side please?
  8. The sketch makes it clear. If you could take the swing arm with its spindle and wheel spindle to someone with a workshop who understands motorcycles they should be able to realign it for you. Roll both spindles across a flat surface to check that they are both straight. What area are you in?
  9. Is the chain lining up correctly over both sprockets, place a straight edge across the side of the rear sprocket towards the gear box sprocket also.
  10. You need to do the following when running a trial, this will take a lot of effort and numerous visits to the area. Find suitable land for a trial Arrange a date trying not to clash with much else Contact ACU or AMCA for event insurance Publicise your forthcoming trial Check the ground for a suitable route as well as the sections Clear any vegetation or debris Signs to the event Lay out route markings and section markers Collect all entries, get everyone signed on, look after the monies Find observers See that everything is running smoothly Gather up all markers, litter, make good anything needed, secure the area as requested by owner Pay for use of site Pay insurance Tally up scores each class separately then forward to riders Another job is get rider numbers prior to the event or have bibs ready, after the trial wash bibs if covered in ##@# then sort numerically ready for next time. If you have not tried the above I suggest you do so as there is also a lot of pleasure gained from organising a trial but at least it gives an insight as to why the results come last on the list of things to do. The electronic scoring is probably a nice thing if the club is well financed but if there is a programme of trial entrants numbers would still be needed but at least there would be no more rain drenched score sheets to try and decipher, unless water got into the electrics or someone lost their transponder or the scanner played up!!!
  11. Colour is very much like these https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/universal-translucent-plastic-mudguards/ but I think the design of them was modelled on the alloy Bultaco https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/bultaco-sherpa-original-style-alloy-front-mudguard/ https://www.inmotiontrials.com/product/bultaco-sherpa-alpina-original-style-alloy-rear-mudguard/ which have a raised edge. I think they suit the earlier Bultaco bikes better than the Goneli ones which although a good mudguard were fitted only to the later bikes.
  12. My Bultaco Model 124 is fitted with the later lighter coloured VF mudguards.

    TR 80 v TR77

I have a OSSA TR77 Verde which I believe was the last version of what was previously the MAR and to me it works very well. As I understand it the TR80 Gripper engine was derived from the moto-cross power unit so similar yet different to the 77 but either would be a great ride in classic trials. As for capacity just buy whatever seems right condition wise. The 77 used the earlier MAR wheels whereas the 80 was fitted with OSSA conical hubs. With good linings from either Villiers Services or Saftek the 77 brakes work well but as with all MAR models check for a bent rear wheel spindle. Steve Sell makes a replacement from modern materials as well as a sprocket carrier for Beta type flat sprockets instead of the elegant but trouble prone original dished version. One for sale here, https://www.inmotiontrials.com/bikes/ossa-m-a-r-250-cc-1975/ I have no connection or interest in the bike its owner or InMotion but rebuilt by Steve Sell means it will be a good one.
  15. All on here, http://www.yamahaty.com/english/tyusineen/majestyen.html
  16. The Yamaha TY twin shock bikes are a Japanese take on the OSSA MAR, the MAR formed the basis of their design.
  17. Buy the best you can find without going OTT £££ keep a bit back for things you will need. Which one to choose I think depends on what you find that appeals most but I would look for one that has not been messed about with and apart from possibly modern footrest and maybe lower gearing keep it that way. Because of wear a new carb or electronic ignition might be needed but these parts are bolt keep all the original bits and have fun with your bike.
  18. Hi Glenn, the Homelite tank unit fitted to my Bultaco Model 124 is the same type as the one on the left in your picture. The glassfibre Slimline tank/seat units were made in two versions to suit earlier and later frames.
  19. Greeves made their frames from Reynolds 531 tubing.
  20. You need to replace the O rings that surround the jets these fit into the float bowl and when worn cause all sorts of running problems.
  21. I have the UPB thin clutch plates with 16t engine sprocket and tensioner. I seem to remember someone saying the belt drive pulley being about 17t equivalent on the PK belt drive conversion. By comparison I have a Villiers engined bike fitted with a Villiers Services 17t sprocket (similar pitch primary chain to Cub but single row) and nylon tensioner running with complete satisfaction which made me question if the mains are to blame for the noise made by the Triumph Cub.
  22. Brucey do you have a 16t crank sprocket with tensioner is it that which makes a noise, is the noise inherent due to the tensioner or does the amount of free play make a difference my bike also rumbles from the tensioner area might the noise be due to wear on the main bearings?

    Beta Evo Models

  24. Hi Steve it will become easier as you get used to it just find somewhere fairly open to play ride around, at least you now know what happens when you open her up.
  25. There is no reason why the set up you have should not work but when the tensioner is swing arm mounted spring tension remains constant throughout rear wheel suspension movement whereas if the tensioner is fixed to the frame it then varies due to the chain moving nearer to or further away from it, obviously the nearer to the gearbox sprocket you can fit the tensioner the better .
