Starting to restore my 172 montesa and was always told it was a 123 bored out to 156.Have got a 123 engine for spares and the 172 has a longer con rod and heavier fly wheels. abit more than a bigger bore me thinks.

Picked up my new 2011 250 sherco Saturday.Went to trial on Sunday after two laps had fuel problems bike would only run with choke on. Striped carb found milky sticky stuff in carb, drained tank and filter and found same stuff. Any ideas. Bike runs fine now.

Hello it looks like to me the smaller engine is a 123 or 172 both are the same cases. Pity you live so far away because if you were going to sell them i would be interested in them.
  16. I used to use Castrol 747 2t great stuff smells right costs alot
  17. Dont laugh but i have used Mich,Dun,IRC and Vee Rubber. And for ever day trials Vee Rubber wins, dont think i would use it in the SSDT.
  18. Hello i am lucky i have both a modern and a twinshock trials bike, but i have only used my twinshock (fantic 240) once in a trial because it is crap. Do not get me wrong i rode a fantic in the 80s in the ssdt 3 times and they were good and the one i have now is in good nick but when you go near water no brakes and every thing just feels heavy.Dont get me wrong any bike is fun and beats the hell out of being with out a bike but try and get a go on both then you can make your own mind up after all it is you money.
  19. Just got 09 280 pro and the tyre is rubbing. After further investigation and a lot of bad words i noticed the wheel was not in the middle of swinging arm 15mm to exhaust side. Have sat down with spoke key seems to be better now.
