    Can Am Armstrong/swm

Thank's Woody, I took a good look at the picture and I should have seen the differences , even the 350 Rotax is not the same, do you know if they are close in performance? Guy

What is the difference between a Can Am Armstrong and a SWM, on a picture that I have they look the same. Guy

    Spacer Tickness

Anybody smarter than me, I have to install a flat sprocket on a TY 250B and I don't remember ( I didn't write it down ) the tickness of the spacer I need, the one I put on my other TY seem's to be 4 mm thick. I can't measure it without tacking the sprocket off and I don't want ( or am too lazy ) to take it off. Guy
  7. The cracking sound when it start?? Hummm.... wiring grounding somewhere?? I would check that Guy ( If you are loking to find a reason to spend 200 .. that's another thing )
  8. I read this post with a lot of interest, I feel very lucky that here in Quebec we do not have any of those rules problem. At any of our competion ( I should say meeting ) only around 15 riders compete and you should see the bikes that are registered, the rules are twin shocks, drum brakes air cooled motor, and oh yes many laugh from most of the riders that are just there for fun, I sure wish that if '' competition '' get's in the way of our meeting they will change rules and make two class one for the riders that have to win something at all cost and one for the other that ride what ever they like and want to have a good time. You see for me trial riding is a sport and not a job, I have to be competitive at work. This year I hope to ride a modified TY frame with a well prepared 250cc motor just for fun, if the organiser decide that I should not compete for points I hope they will let me ride on the course they prepared at the competition they organised on the land they sometime rent all of that as the saying goes '' for fraction of the cost '' . I took some time last year to help ( a bit ) the organiser of one meeting and I can assure you that riding IS the fun part NOT organising. My hat off to any organiser specialy to the one that have to make new rules. Guy
  9. 2 things you could check: squish and compression. I know that it was ans is still '' a la mode '' to modify the head and ad a little compression on those model, maybe someone went overboard. Guy
  10. The last time I wanted info from them, it was a while before I had an answer and the where going away soon after my reply, so what I think is use a little patience if you can, it's well worth it Guy
  11. I think a few of you are missing the first point: the guy with an old running somewhat resembling a far cousin of a trial bike could go and try trial '' without '' spending less than a 1000 dollars euros or any other curency. Guy

    Majesty Frame.

Just one other thing. Is the rear tube, the one that the new shock mount is welded to located at the same place at the under seat? the bottom location seem's to be the same. Guy

    175 Bore Clearence

I would read carefully the previous 3 post BEFORE sending my cylinder for a rebore, you might just '' waste '' an o/s, unfortunatly the saying '' you can pay me now or you can pay me later but you gonna have to pay me anyway '' is right in this case. Maybe the guy's at the shop that you chose are aware of the potential problems therefore asking you for specific tolerances. Of course it's just my opinion. Guy

    Majesty Frame.

If it sell's for that much money, I would'nt be surprise if 25 bike frame shop from China start selling them. Guy

    A or B

The big question! I am working on a TY frame and motor project that up to now was very clear. I have 3 A ( 434 ) motors one is in my std riding bike and I would prepare another one for my project, complete overall including a little porting, head reshaping, squish calculated, timing and flyweel weight removal. But yesterday I was offered a B ( 493-1... ) complete Ty. Now you know my question. I rode C and D model so long ago that I cant tell the difference between them. I'm not looking to start an argument over witch one is the best, but I would like your input on both model A and B. This motor will go in a D modified frame. Soooo... what do you think?
  20. Hi Wombat I don't know how to send you the page but if you send me a PM I will foward you a page on fleebay with a set of 3rd os ring for your TY. Guy
  21. I have a 434 that I ride for fun at different comp that was refresh last year, at first it was Ok. I '' geared '' it 12 / 55 ( 428 chain )and was fun to ride but it went slowly very flat on me, to a point that it was unpleasant to ride. It did not slall on me but would not pick up. I cleaned the silencer ( help to a point I know I need to do a complete job on the exhaust ) put on a .020 in head gasket gain another bit and finaly change the original carb for a VM 26mm Mikuni ( ordinary round slide ). Now that made a big difference, so much so that I put the 13t front sprocket back on after an hour of riding. I think there's a lot of small thing that can make a big difference in performance.
  22. No wonder they where so cheap, less than 50% of the price of Michelin Guy
  23. I don`t know what went wrong on the first try, the computer went ``?&$%//" `` and the post was sent. Anyway my question is: does somebody have a feedback on Bridgestone TW5 tube type ( 400/18 ) trial tire? I would install it on a TY 250.
  24. As anybody tried it on a 175cc motor ? Guy
