  1. The heavy pull is adjustable. First by measuring the clutchplates pack as a whole. A thicker pack wld put more pressure on the disc-spring, hence heavier pull. Putting thinner clutchplates in wld releave that. Going over board in not enough thickness, clutch starting to slip when pulling 5/6 gear on the road. The clutch adjustment. By screwing in the piston of the mastercilinder you can build up pressure more rapidly. Going in too deep, hole won't get free when releasing lever and systempressure drops gradually, you loose clutch disengagement. A new piston/o-ring will help tremendous in building up system pressure.
  2. Again?!, i reply. Does it have this centrifugal flywheel?? That wld be cool
  3. One year ago we discussed the GG 4stroke as being a sidevalve lower cam motor. I recvd this information from the dutch importer. It was said to be a plus 300cc motor.Due to the camrod under the cilinder the point of gravity wld be lower as the overhead cam egines. Again it is strange that Honda did not go this way. Probably something to do with brand policy. Like you said, no need for 4 valves at 500 rpm's.
  4. i like to give extra info on this. I experienced a heavy clutch pull aswell, and i compared mine to a new 200cc Gasgas bike that trained with me, which had a remarkable light clutch action. I opened the engine to measure the thickness of the clutchpack and it was 9.95mm. Bearing in mind what No1 said, i put thinner plates in, which brought the thickness back to 9.75mm. Voila, light clutch action. 0.2mm is a lot of extra tension on the disc spring with nowadays pro's. It is even possible that because of clutch swell you will experience increase in heavier clutch action over a while. That is the reason why GG is so accurate about, and the oil recommendations, and the clutch thickness.
  5. I wld not bother about the clunk. A clunk is better than teethgrinding sounds The bad shifting is more to worry about, although the gasgas needs a deliberate kick. Probably a bend shifterclaw, as these are made of aluminium. They are easy to bend slightly, asspecially when shifting under load. When you get away with it, 4 kicks, on downshifts, maybe leave it, as from 4 to 3 is not needed often.
  6. So, no phenomina at all, just plain "cold fouling". Can happen with my bike aswell, when i have a rich idle set up.
  7. I was not amused by Pedrosa's action. It killed the sensation right away. I rather saw the two battle for it, and that the best may win. Hayden was riding well, did a stupid thing overtaking Pedrosa like he did, set Pedrosa probably on fire because of that. Spanish temper. And the youngster lost it.
  8. So, what we look for, to lighten the pull, is a smaller diameter master cylinder, but with more stroke, to get the neccesary displacement at the slave cylinder!? Which master cylinder will that be(part nbr)? Some people telling about a Montesa master cylinder?

    '04 Raga 300

That someone was joking i wld say.I don't think anybody will advice to not oiling a airfilter After oiling squeeze it to get it as dry as you can. What are the jetting specs of the bike. Have they run it bigger jets for very cold winter temps in the past? How many turns on the idle screw? With the fresh plug, it ran better? What was dodgy about the new plug?

    '04 Raga 300

a new plug will do the work, i feel. When these gasser are used at low throttle speeds, they carbonise quite a bit. The cilinderhead builts up carbon, and so is the plug. Run it real hard for a couplle of minutes and see if it starts to smoke. Check yr plug, is it white, you probably have solved the low throttle stalls. It cld happen that after a WOT you feel the engine hesitates a bit, like it is runnning out of fuel. Then the plug is still not really clean.
  11. Thnks Uhoh, for the replie. The rattle is less? Probably because the clutch has come a little to the outside, now not secured by the bolt, and has taken some of the freeplay away, that is normally there. But is the engagement point still the same, or does it vary a little? That wld be no good.

    Carb Question?

But you do mess with the pilot Look at the needle the same way as the pilot, just an other tuning device.
  13. Yes, it was viewed by many spectators, only this non-stop section was situated in the back of the circuit, and i was one of the first to arrive. And i felt that the most people were watching fujinami and lampkin. And they were a little behind of Raga, and the other spanish guys.
  14. A few pictures of Belgium. Waiting for the start. Who has the coffee? In style. Watching over his son. A little debate is going on. Hey, i think this is a better line, don't you think.
  15. ttlshell, very cool how you resolved yr problem with the fork. Keep it in mind.

    Rossi

Rossi is going to win it, no doubt about that. The nerves are getting to Hayden, and it shows that the best material is only 60% of the total package. Nerves 40%. I reckon they are all great riders, with Rossi at the top.
  17. i am planning going to Spa/belgium to watch the riders the last round. Is there parking on the circuit, as this will be the first time i go there? Is taking a ATB with me smart? So i can follow the top riders during the whole round?

    Dear Abby

Dear Abby, I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice on what could be a crucial decision. I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs... Phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up. My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them." I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive, although I can hear a car setting off, as if she has gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi? I once picked her cell phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her. Anyway, I have never broached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her. I decided I was going to park my 990 Super Duke next to the garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she comes home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my Duke, that I noticed that the carburetor on my engine seems to be leaking a little fuel. Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer? Thanks, Worried about my Baby
  19. thnks for informing me on this. I will take proper action when nessesary

    Gear Saver Oil?

It is thinner. That is what the sae 75 says. The thinnier the noisier, but beside that it is both sold as a gear saver, so it won't harm yr gears. Just poor it in and have a go. Buy it by the gallon, it is cheaper.
  21. With the hopping, do they(the pro's) still keep a finger on the frontbrake or do they let go of it? I find it sooo difficult to be gentle on the throttle and keeping a finger up at the brake lever.

    Altering Gearing

Well Hoodie, yr idea is correct. 2nd will be 1st etc. Funny that scorpa standard sprocket is a 12. With my GG it is a 11, and i went to 10 to slow 1st gear down with walking pace non-stops. You can calculate the gear ratio's but you need to know the primary gear ratio's and secondary gear ratio's in the first place . So check yr manual, maybe it is listed in there.

    07 Pro Spec?

Is there a reason for GG to change anything on the Pro's. Everything is working properly. Yes, it has a delicate gearbox, but it is light and trick. Going from kokusan to ducati is not an improvement imho. From ohlins to sachs, well, i leave that for the ohlins riders to answer. Can somebody say what needs to be done to the pro's, honestly?
